Bumrah's 22 runs today is now the highest score by an Indian Captain on this tour!:p Shows how wretched Rohit Sharma has been.

Jadeja should consider retirement as well, he has barely made any difference, by ball or bat |
Jadeja still has a lot to offer being the only proper All-rounder in the team. Feel he should bat at no.5 in SENA!

Was really impressed by Rishabh today, he took quite a few body blows but hung on for almost 100 balls. |

Clearly those dismissals on this tour has affected his game. He was blocking half volleys today! You want your most destructive player to play a counter-attacking role rather than taking body blows as if you're trying to save a Test Match. Its frustrating because he has got starts in most innings but instead of cashing in he's got out failing to make a decent score. Feel Jadeja should be promoted to no.5 or even no.3 as he seems to be good with occupation of the crease. Gill with his technique is more suited to no.5 but that is provided he works on his concentration as those lovely 20s don't really help.

Jadeja is the number one all rounder in the world currently because there aren't many all rounders around these days. In the top ten, IMHO Ben Stokes is the only genuine all rounder.

At 49/4, Siraj singing well and syncing with Bumrah, the match is poised interestingly. Smith is digging deep (2 consecutive boundaries, as type this), but with him off the scene, it is India's match to lose. Notwithstanding our consistency in being fickle and inconsistent, matches like these keep us hooked to test cricket.
Aside, the below meme reminded me how much i enjoyed following matches on radio in the 90s and early 2000s; with the Hindi commentators handholding us through the happenings on field with their juicy, witty narrations of आँखों देखा हाल. They were the real Sanjayas for us then.
Nostalgia!
Great morning session for India, picked the important wickets of Head and Smith. We sorely missing Mitchel Marsh, and the debutants are always a headache for us, need to see how long Webster would stick around.
Hang on, guys,
Rohith Sharma isn't retiring anytime soon!

With Bumrah out of action, it is great to see the young guys stepping up. 2 wickets each for Prasidh Krishna and Nitish Reddy already. Catching and fielding has also been sharp.
Edit: Krishna gets his third. Good catch by Jaiswal to get rid of Webster. Aus 9 down, still trailing by 19.

Seems like the PR team and Sharma Sahib had a long meeting and came up with his speech and punch lines. I hope BCCI steps up and drops him for next tour or arrange some one off test with Zimbabwe at home to give him a non deserving farewell. Ashwin was a much greater player then him in Test and deserved a much better send off.
Brilliant bowling today and great to see team step up after Bumrah absence, I hope now batsman can step up one final time and give enough time to bowlers and Bumrah to recover.
:coldsweat Seems a long time since we crossed 2 digit score without a wicket loss, and this time we are at 33/0 in 5.0 overs! An RR of 6.6!
Hope I dont jinx it.
If Rohit has said he's not retiring, then he's gotta bat himself back in form in Ranji and then come back. Whether he can do this at age 38 remains to be seen. Or he might have just said it to not create drama in midst of a game.
I really really hope Bumrah is fit and the scans were just a precautionary measure. Siraj, Prasidh and Nitish have risen to the occasion, turning this game into a second inning shootout. For once I pray that our batting lives up to it's hype.
We took a 4 run lead with Bumrah and Kohli sharing captaincy.
With Rohit we would have atleast given a 40-50 run lead.
Aussies look rattled by aggressive start now.

Spoke too soon! Boland is the Josh of this Series.
Oh man, hope Bumrah is fine else we are doomed. Jaiswal and KL opened confidently against Starc and Cummins but seemed totally clueless against Bolland who bowled both of them.
Now our scorecard says the story we have had entire series except Perth 2nd inning. With Rohit on his way out, Virat should step up finally or step out of the team.
The match is wide open now thanks to our bowlers who restricted them under 181. A result looks pretty certain hereon :thumbs up
Wow, the change in captaincy immediately shows the difference. The energy of players on the field itself changed a lot.
Bumrah & Kohli did great again with field setup & bowling changes. I've always been vocal about Kohli being one of the best test captains (if not the best) for India, and its proven again while Bumrah was away for scan. Hope he can give a fabulous second innings as the Kohli we all admired.
Kohli doing what he’s doing best all this summer down under !!
150-200 would be a spicy score subjected to Bumrah being fine, else it’s another test headed for doomsday.
Why Pant why.
Edit - Gill doing Pant !! Let’s get back to IPL.
I have no words..what a disaster.
Please announce retirement, this is so painful to watch.
