I do not know what he said on TV, I am sure he would have said what he knew first hand without considering what is being said in the media. Of course he wouldn't want to hurt his team either.
IMO, all the controversies that have been raging is only between the Australian & Indian media. There has been no great change in the behaviour between the 2 teams, it has always been like this ever since we started doing well against the aussies from 2001 onwards.

Hey man, you are attributing Aussie player's tactics to their media

I don't think there was any controversy before, because the team had meekly caved in . Only controversy was that Mr Waugh claimed Mr Ganguly arrived late for the toss.

thats True. as harbhajan commented after hayden called him a 'obnoxious weed' that the aussies are scampering now because they know they no longer are the undisputed champs of the game.

just hope india thrash the aussies in the finals. that will keep their mouths shut for a while.

well next thing we know -- the match umpires might bring out some rules related to how long or short hair one can keep or what kind of undergarments can a cricketer wear

Between symmonds, ponting and hayden, they have 76% votes...meaning 3/4th of all folks think aussies are the worst behaved.
