Yusuf Pathan & RP Singh seems to be enjoying their free rides. I thought that Abhishek Nayar had a chance in the last game to make it to the team after the better performace in the warm-up matches.

What's with Yusuf Pathan?? He lost the game for us... Chewing gum + attitude and then falls for the third slip trap. My 7 year old neighbour watching the match along with me commented before he got out - "Hope he is aware of the third slip position" and bang Mr Pathan falls for it.

I was expecting Yusuf at No.3 yesterday. Not a bad idea IMO let Yusuf play the Boom Boom and Gambhir stabilise the innings and play till the end. I agree Yusuf has been way outta form , but he comes at No. 7(?) so maybe promote him up for few matches . Also i think since he is a handy part time bowler Dhoni might have to play him since there is no Yuvi to fill the gap.

I Hope we beat Aussie tom and WI later. Last few matches every team has hit 300 +. Solution seems- Bat 1st hit 300 and you have almost won half the match?

A do-or-die match for India. Hopefully, we will beat the Aussies today to keep our hopes alive. Toss would be crucial. Ideally, if we win the toss and bat first and post a score of 280+, we should be allright.

On the other hand, if we loose the toss and chase, we are in trouble. Our guys, just do not know the art of chasing. Moreover, when chasing, we are alwaya a batsman short(Sachin :( )

In most do or die matches Indian cricket team chases the safe route and dies
Today may not be a different story.

28 overs 152 for 2, this way they will easily get to 320+...

Ishant seems to enjoy getting beaten around, loves giving width....

234/4 after 42.3 -- Rain stopped Play

this is totally disgusting as India is again moving towards another shameful defeat.

First, the bowling is at its poorest specially Ishant and Harbhajan
and on top of it the batters are unable to forge partnerships when batters from other teams are enjoying the slow strips of Centurion.

I dont know whats going on Dhoni, he just cannot make runs and we used to criticize Saurav Ganguly.

so its same with All Indian Captains.

From Cricinfo:-
Quote:
If Australia's innings ends now, India's target in 42 overs is 263. If its reduced to 20 overs then 153.
I hope play is not abandoned

Unlikely.
From cricinfo -
Heavy rain. Pools of water all around. Looks awful. Unlikely play will resume any time soon. I will say it again - there is no reserve day. Even for the final. India and Australia will just share points. So that means India will have to beat West Indies, Pakistan will have to beat Australia, and even then India's net run rate will have to be good for them to move on. For Australia, a win or a split point will take them through. Even if they lose they can make it on net run rate.

So india can start packing bags

I just hope that they can somehow squeeze in 20 overs. India's best chance will be a chase in a truncated match. The rain might be just be blessing in disguise for us. Let's hope the match resumes pretty soon.

Hmmm, match washed out, we share points which means that to make it to the next round, Pakistan will have to beat Australia, we need to beat the West Indies and hope that our net run rate is better than that of Australia to get through ! If Australia beats Pakistan, we are out !

Is there any benefit that Pakistan can take by beating Aussies or even by losing to them? (meeting a weaker opponent at next stage like that...)
