Younis and Yousuf have been banned from playing, any form of international cricket for pakistan. Looks like Shoaib and Rana also received one year ban! With the Pak team looking lost already, this ban ensures the grave is dug even deeper.

You forgot to mention Afridi. I read that he is also fined and probably under probation for six months. Firstly these administrators were unable to cure the internal fighting with a stern hand since ages and now as the disease has become rampant they going for the kill.

No one could have destroyed themselves so perfectly.

I wonder how long it will be before the Pakistan government comes up with a statement - "We see India's hand in this" ;)

anybody following the Indo-Lanka test?

After being badly beaten in the first test, India managed to draw the second one. And were on their way to win the third test and square the series.

They managed to get 11 runs' slender lead in the first innings and brought down Lanka to 87/7. Then the inevitable happened - the lower order crushed India. Samarweera added 39 with Malinga and has already added 83 with Mendis. As I am typing this, Mendis had just hit Ojha for a six. India has squandered all advantage they had and are well on their way to lose this test and series.

These partnerships have deflated the team morale so badly that they are simply not trying, Pathetic!!!

Umm, too early for me to think that way with more than a day to go!

Lead is already 207; and partnership unbeaten 93. I won't put my money on India chasing 250 odd in the fourth innings.

Finally Lanka is out; lead of 256, target of 257. I know where my money isn't.

And we won.
Thanks to laxman and tendulkar and raina.
Still no.1 :)

That was very unfortunate for Viru. In my books, that is a century.

In my eyes it was not unfortunate but deliberate! Plain and simple - Randiv bowled a no-ball intentionally to deny Sehwag a century.

Righto, this was a no-ball by at least couple of feet, definitely deliberate.

Not very sporting by Randiv at all ! I don't think it was a 'team plan' by Sri Lanka though to deny Viru a well deserved hundred !

Unfortunate for Viru, of course. :)

The irony. Randiv was adjudged the 'Rocking Performer of the match'.

If the no ball was on purpose then its not at all in good sporting spirits. It is a different matter that he can hit 200 in the next match and go home. Atleast the not out tag after the 99 will addup to his series average.

It was deliberate if you see the margin by which his foot was beyond the line. And I do think this is a team plan. If you could remember the Ahmedabad test (2009) where Tendulkar was around 96 on the last day with only an hour or so of the play left. The test was literally Drawn as lanka was yet to play second innings. But sangakkara had other plans. He employed a completely off-side field and bowled too wide of the stump so that Sachin couldn't score century. Of course sachin scored his ton by playing the ball from very wide of off-stump and flicking it to square leg for four.
Its understandable if one employs such a tactics in a crunch situation where a wicket could change the game, but in a lost cause like the above test and yesterday's game, its purely against the spirit of the game.

P.S. Randiv has apologised to Sehwag.
