Yup, I do and somehow it hurts when people become over-critical with every defeat. Wining and loosing are part and parcel of life. Today we loose, tomorrow we'll win again and that victory will be sweeter to taste. May be we'll loose this match (now that Laxman also is gone) and this series itself but so what? This is not end of the world as far as cricket goes.
Anyway, gotta go now, bad headache, need rest. Let's hope that we draw this match.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Looks like the match will get over today itself.

If this happens India will get an additional day of rest, I hope it would help them prepare well for the next test match.

We haven't done anything wrong in this test match, england was well prepared & a better team now.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Someone on cricinfo comments: "Only Rajnikant can save India now". ROFL.

I understand bad bowling, but batting failure? What confuses me is whether our bowling is bad that even their tail batted well or English bowling is too good for our batsmen or is it both?

Looks like it is both.

Re: The Cricket Thread

India on its way to be officially dethroned from the no 1 test team. Its already been pushed one ranking below in the ODI's.

The way the Indian team are playing they need something better than rest and that is the return ticket to India. Let them improve their form by playing in the cash rich IPL's.

Does 55/6 help? Back to the drawing table now. India has 2 day match before the third test, quite a few things to be pondered over.

p.s:Apparently Sehwag is flying out to England today.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Already 6 down. When Sachin fires everbody misfires. Isnt that an irony that seems to happen quite often.

England have got a very good bowling and batting side and we did miss out on a very good opputunity when we had 8 wickets for 120 odd in the first innings.

I only wish/hope we can manage a win in this series to save some face.

Waiting for Dhoni's comments after the match. You need to at least fight before going down.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Pathetic-That sums all for the 2 test performance by Indian team so far.
Bhajji should be thrown out.
Dhoni cant bat in Tests. Period.
In which century will we get allrounders like broad and Tim?

Re: The Cricket Thread

I am a person who believes in sticking with the team and support it in thick and thin. But sometimes, the way they surrender hurts a lot. Like in this match, from a commanding position to a position of no hope to abject surrender. I don't mind losing but not this way.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Its all over. 4 match series is now 2-0 in favour of England.

England played like champions and they deserve to dislodge India from the top position.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Its good SRT didn't get 100th century in this forgettable match. Horrible performances by all. Especially Dhoni for poor captaincy, batting and keeping. Hope we rise up to beat England in remaining 2 to equal the series.

Badly need Veeru back. More than anyone else, he is the guy who has made this team world beater.
