I remember this match. I think once he got his 100 he was so much into "The Zone" that he was batting leaving all his stumps exposed (on 6th stump gaurd) which I thought was so unlike him.
Finally - the selectors open their eyes and drop Harbhajan from the ODI sqaud (only the 1st 2 matches) to play the English !
Balle balle...bruuaaah
5 seamers and 2 spinners ? I don't know what to make of it.

Eddy you didnt get it. our pacers bowl at the pace of spinners only so we actually have 7 spinners.
England is in troublelol:
Our pace bowling department hasn't been the same after our premier fast bowler retired......Anil Kumble we miss you :D

No I meant the 2nd Feb match. Donald was breathing fire after he castled Sachin. Dravid played some astonishingly clean text book shots including a six over long on off donald. When he plays like that, he looks much better than sachin.

We are simulating English conditions by bringing in weather machines from england and playing the good host.
Some selections are funny. For instance, Sehwag, who had surgery in early June, was fit enough to play in away series in August (in fact he did play the tests), but still recuperating for October home series?
I am happy for Rahul Sharma. The bloke has a great temperament and attitude. Hope Harbhajan never returns now.
But all of a sudden, why are we now scared of playing tests against England after that phainty we got over there?
So finally the much hyped Varun Aaron makes his debut! He certainly is no Brett Lee, but he seems promising. It was good to see him getting a few yokers spot on towards the end.
Btw, completely shocked to see empty stands at Wankhede today!

Apparently it the cheapest ticket was Rs.1000 hence so many empty stands. But nothing like a packed Wankhede crowd !
Did not see varun bowl. But his figures are great for a debutant quickie in Indian conditions.

He only got the tailenders out ! But he does seem promising.
But i dont think he's the fastest bowler India has produced, that crown goes to Ashish Nehra ;)(yes, you read that right). I remember him touching 149km/hr ages back.

Ishant bettered that in the Australian series, where he continuously troubled one of the greats of modern cricket Ricky Ponting. He touched
151kmph but sadly he's struggling to touch 140 these days.
They say that Javagal Srinath was the fastest ever Indian, but that was in the Ranji season and not in international cricket. Hence no electronic records are available of his delivery speeds. By the time he got an Indian cap he had mellowed down.

It was a joy to see an Indian bowler getting a reverse swinging yorker at post 140 speed. Definitely this lad is promising. This is the best debut by a indian pace bowler. Till yesterday the record owned by Subroto Banerjee. Hopefully Varun does not go Subroto Banerjee's way.
