Re: The Cricket Thread

Last ODI was 100% fixed.
Anyone who has some knowledge in betting will tell that.

BTW Misbah is quite well known as someone who slows the tempo down. Happened in WC also.

I always thought those Man of the Match awards were pointless.

Just saw that England played Delhi yesterday in a one-day warmup match and Unmukt was part of Delhi team. Maybe that's why he was not picked for the India A team.

Its not that India does not have players, just the current bunch of guys are not performing. Look at this

Re: The Cricket Thread

So now we are getting set for the one day series with England, dont know how much of a difference this will be. In the past few days however, I have been a little optimistic. Reason being that the recent turn of events has brought every ones attention to the current Ranji season. And now is a good time to look at domestic cricket, With the quarter finals going on and each team playing their best 11. And since IPL has not finished, it is a good time we can actually look to find some genuine players, rather than one match wonders !!

Hats off to the India 'A' and Delhi teams for showing the 'seniors' how to beat England

As much as I would like to believe the game was clean, there is absolutely no doubt the game was fixed. Pakistan were batting well in previous games, they were chasing 170 and the way their batsmen got out is indicative of attempting illogical shots that they did not show in 4 previous matches in the series. Was it rigged to give India pride in not getting swept by Pakistan is a debatable question but fixed it was

Don't intend to speculate or add fuel to the fire but I found India's victory celebrations rather odd - too much of joy and excitement was expressed and it was like they'd won a big game when in fact it was a face-saving win that was almost another loss; that too in a low scoring game

Re: The Cricket Thread

Did Sir Ravindra Jadeja finally come good? Heard he got Man of the Match. So miracles do happen! Couldn't resist posting the below pic. Kohli's & Ashwin's form is still a concern.

watching the match today, whenever the new Tata docomo ''luck doesn't work everytime'' ad comes on screen, Rohit Sharma comes to my mind
Cricinfo description on Rohit Sharma says that he oozes talent.
But how many more chances does one need to prove that

May be that's the problem - the talent has oozed away. Check Rohit Sharma's performances outside the sub-continent. Mostly it looked like all the talent has oozed away.

Re: The Cricket Thread

New role for Dhoni -Dhoni named India Cements vice-president
So Dhoni is captain & management of CSK. And his mentor, N Srinivas is owner of CSK. And Dhoni is also captain of India. N Srinivas is Secretary of BCCI.
Hope there is 'no conflict of interests'.

Next, dhoni is going to play Ranji for TN, I sincerely hope it does not happen. He seems to be a proud Ranchi guy and has certainly put Ranchi on the world map.

Did anyone notice that the 2 practice games given to Australia were played in a college ground (Guru Nanak College)? No disrespect to the ground, but racking my brains, I cannot recall any instance of an International team playing in a college/university ground in Chennai. Why this step motherly treatment for the OZs who are more admirable than the Poms ?
