Re: The Cricket Thread

Ishant being so tall, dont understand why he bends so much before bowling? Its almost like he doesn't want to take advantage of his height

The batsmen should atleast have the attitude of getting body blows trying to stick at the wicket.

Re: The Cricket Thread

New Zealand cranking it up.
Is it just me or are clean washes becoming more and more common these days? Australia tours India, gets cleaned 4-0. India visits Australia and England, gets wiped 4-0 in both places. India visits NZ, gets cleaned in ODI's and the Test series looks no different so far. England visits Australia and we all know what happened in the last Ashes. Pakistan get licked something-0 at SA.

Tourists aren't winning even a single game lately. Has the home team advantage skewed so much of late?

Re: The Cricket Thread

Irani Trophy - anyone watching ? Rest are being taken to cleansers by Ranji Champs.

Bhajji cribbing about pitch was helping fast bowlers on day 1. What was he expecting it to do - help spinners I guess.

Fluid & stroke filled century by Binny to boot his 3 wickets.

MSD are you even following this match ?

Sorry but why would he be following an Irani Trophy match while he is in New Zealand in the middle of a test series?

No need. MSD has a CSK quota that has been filled up. For the rest, MSD has faith that ultimately the players will perform. They have repaid his faith and confidence. Ishant took a 5 wicket haul in NZ, his first after 2011?? Has confirmed his spot till 2016, when he will take his next 5 wicket haul, this time against Bangladesh.

Maybe Ashwin should play the next match and take 1-2 months and improve his overseas record.

surprised nobody here is talking about the Mudgal report against Gurunath Meiyappan. It would suck if CSK had to be terminated. I'm not a supporter of CSK, but they shouldnt be punished because of one idiot. On the other hand, betting should just be legalized in India. Just keep to Goa or something, where all the casinos are. I don't think it should be too big of a problem

Re: The Cricket Thread

The media made huge noises in May-June 2013 when the initial reports came out. Nothing happened then and am pretty sure nothing will happen now. Lalit Modi will be in demand by news channels for some days but the same lot will continue with their usual ways.

Sad that the Government does not do anything. So tragic (but expected) that cricket legends who can make a difference do nothing and remain silent. Remember that saying (maybe I have got the wording wrong but the idea is): the only thing necessary for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing.

Talking of committees, Srinivasan, BCCI chairman had ordered a probe to find out from Srinivasan, MD of India Cements & owner of CSK as to exactly what was role of Srinivasan's son-in-law in CSK. I wonder what if the committee submitted its report.

Cause, he has nothing to do & its match between Ranji winners v/s Rest of India talent.
By following I did not mean he needs to sit and watch whole match. Just get to know what is happening or watch highlights. He might find someone who can replace the Raina & Ashwin & Sharmas (R & I)

I agree with you but expecting government to act is way too much optimism. This is government that is full of scams. We can have separate & probably longest thread on history of team-bhp on that

Legends have seen what happened to few others who went against BCCI and feel they are better off toeing the line than take these politicians turned administrators head on.

Didn't this committee give a clean chit to Meyyappan, as expected?

Re: The Cricket Thread

The unthinkable has happened! CSK man Raina has been dropped from the ODI team.
It is mere speculation at this stage but i wonder if the sealed envelope presented in the Supreme Court by the Justice Mudgal Committee has anything to do with it!

Finally. It was high time and I was waiting for it. I don't clearly remember when was the last time he did well for team India (not CSK) in the batting department

The IPL auction is tommorow; i'm pretty excited for it. Eager to see who RCB is going to take for their team.
