Openers coming out all guns blazing is a tricky statement as Dhawan did hit boundary off the first ball he faced in the last match.
Gayle takes time to settle in but we all are okay with that. Even the Roy played classic shots and boundaries rather than sixes without taking unnecessary risks. I also see a bias as Yuvi's innings are admired even though he wasted too many opportunities to run two instead of one.
Now are openers meant to swing the bat only and get out at the first opportunity.
Rahane can come in place of Rohit/Shikhar but he is untested but worth taking the risk.

New Zealand womens team lost to West Indies in the Semi final so their campaign in mens and womens WC T20 comes to an end as losing Semi-finalists.

Some statistics from this T20 WC...
8 instances when the same country's men and women lost one and won the other game played on the same day:
March 15 - Men:NZ vs Ind (Ind lost), Women:Ind vs Bangla (Ind won)
March 18 - Men:Aus vs NZ (Aus lost), Women:Aus vs SA (Aus won)
March 19 - Men:Ind vs Pak (Pak lost), Women:Ind vs Pak (Pak won)
March 20 - Men:SL vs WI (SL lost), Women:SL vs Ire (SL won)
March 21 - Men:Aus vs Bangla (Aus won), Women:Aus vs NZ (Aus lost)
March 27 - Men:Ind vs Aus (Ind won), Women:WI vs Ind (Ind lost)
March 28 - Men:SA vs SL (SA lost), Women:SA vs SL (SL won)
March 30 - Men:Eng vs NZ (Eng won), Women:Aus vs Eng (Eng lost)

Also, 4 instances of a country's teams winning both matches (men and women) played on the same day:
March 15 - NZ won both matches
March 16 - WI won both matches
March 18 - NZ won both matches
March 20 - WI won both matches

Now, let's see what happens in the India-West Indies mens semi-final :)

I'm getting seriously worried now.
1. I was aware that Dhoni had to hide Pandya from Gayle, Bumrah ensured that it wasn't required.
2. On this pitch, it looks like Pandya shouldn't be bowling short like how he's done is all other games. If Pandya wants to be a dependable all-rounder, his bowling should have more variety.
3. Great batting from Rahane, Rohit and VK (obviously duh!) India scored well in the last 5 over, but WI bowled well. Credit to the opposition bowlers there. Time to evalute SD's place in the team. It was a Kohli-Rahane that set it up today. They're an amazing pair.

Let's just say it wasn't our day.
The pitch wasn't like the slow turners we had over the last few games leading to the semis. Our bowlers weren't really able to do it today.

Well played India. WI were clearly the better side while chasing.

I give England no chance in the finals. Have a feeling WI are going to win the cup comfortably. :)

Over to the IPL after WT20. :D

It's all over for India in this edition of the T20 World Cup.
West Indies fought well to win the game quite convincingly.
And for the 5th time in this tournament, the mens and womens teams of the same country won their matches played on the same day. Hats off to the West Indian teams, well done !

That last six was heartbreaking. Well played Windies.

Finally; we are out of the final. But we lost from wankhede (dew factor) not from West Indies, keep your head up boys, we fought well, but just not fair with the conditions.

Now we know how England scored those runs against S.Africa at wankhede

Summary
- Those 2 wickets of no balls costs us the game!
- Bumrah's last 2 overs at the death dealt another huge blow to us.
- Indian team perhaps relaxed a bit after getting Gayle out.
- Credit to the Windies power hitters.:thumbs up

As i stated earlier, toss proved to be crucial.

192 was a good score. But I feel 2 factors took the game away:
- 20 fours and 11 sixes, 146 runs were scored by WI in boundaries. Indian bowlers couldn't stem the flow of boundaries. India on the other scored just 92 off 192 in boundaries.
- 2 wickets of no-balls which could have shifted the momentum.

WI start as favourites in the finals.

Can someone enlighten me on what is Suresh Raina role in the team? Dhoni had little confidence in him (so Dhoni came up the order in last 2 games).
I don't remember Suresh Raina bowling superbly as well.
All I have seen him do is save runs and then tuble and fall like crazy to show off.

The defeat on the India team was self inflicting. Who ever designated Hardik Pandya as an bowler option must be presented to the firing squad. Was Pandya made to think that the stumps were 10ft in height that he was bowling the short balls. R Ashwin started the tournament as the main strike bowler of the team, he ended up as the most mauled bowler. The Indian team had this pre notion that since they lost the toss, they would lose the match and complemented it with some horrific bowling. All in all WI deserved to win and they won in style. I will be supporting WI in the finals (Can't say if I will watch it)

He is there to run to every fielder and encourage them when they do well ! You can see him everywhere during fielding :)

Might as well use him as a cheer leader !

Lovely bunch of blokes this WI team. Cannot not love them.

Have to feel sorry for Kohli. World class talent in a mediocre team.

England looks very strong right now. For me, they are the favorites going into the game.
