IMO Pakistan DESERVED to win after being in the dumps. It was some brilliant batting that got them back in the hunt and so close to that elusive win. Indian's are getting into this habit of letting go of tight situations in favour of the opposition. India were LUCKY that Misbah found the fielder and not the fence.

But overall brilliant performances by Umar Gul, Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Imran Nazir, Misbah & Irfan Pathan. A match worth remembering, though only if India had gotten another half a dozen runs more and if Misbah would have found the fence and seen to it that it went on for another couple of *****. Now that would have given quite a few heart attacks.

Mclaren - please maintain diplomatic silence. WE are the Champions. The winner takes it all - no sympathy for the loser.

The ultimate winner was the cricketing countries of India and Pakistan. It really provides each and every Indian and Pakistani an opportunity to have his/her head high and show the middle finger to Australia (sorry could not resist).

Long live India and Pakistan. It was a game which both deserved to win.

This is something I will treasure for the rest of my life!

I finally got to see INDIA win a world cup during my lifetime (which didn't look like being possible after the world cup in march!)

Misbah really had to play the lone ranger for Pakistan and he got them one stroke away from victory... but it just wasn't to be his day.

I believe in miracles...I saw one today... CHAK DE INDIA!!!

The final couldn't have been better. Nail biting end.

I think we should make T20 the standard format.... coz after this doze of high adrenaline action, IDOs are gonna put us to sleep. LOL

Now I am kicking myself for not coming home for the match, I mean how many times does India reach finals of a WC. But I have seen India win world cup live on TV, but that was in 1983.

I was in my nappies when we won in 1983. The way I am behaving right now, I could use a few more. Bloody hell.....we won we won we won!!!!

All credit to Pak for a good display. But, there is no place for finishing second in cricket. Now the Indian mentality has to be 'No.1', no less. We earned it. Beating england, SA, Auz and Pak twice is no fluke. All this with a bunch of blokes who seemingly gate-crashed the seniors party.

My dear country(wo)men...its time to wave your flags out and hold it close!!

Tring tring, hello bootleggerji....
