I was so wrong to think Prithvi Shaw will replace Dhawan, but Kohli let go of Pandya for this match :D
After all those statements of denial from Kohli and Shastri, let's see if the team actually wins or saves this one (if they get into a losing situation).
Cook and Moeen going well after getting a life each from dropped catches.
That's how many attempts now England have made to hand a game in this series to India? :)
Joe Root made a big deal of moving back to #4 because it apparently suited him more. With the kind of technique and blown confidence on show this series - that's his third(?) time in five games falling over an incoming delivery while trying to play across - he may as well try opening the second innings or batting at #11 because either way he looks as much a walking wicket right now as Broad does.
From 198/7, India could only manage the wicket of Rashid and England are actually well placed now at 304/8 with Buttler and Broad doing very well.
Looks like Broad is the latest beneficiary of our unique ability to help resurrect a failing batsman's game. I think this is his highest score in 2018 :)

Yes and what are we looking at now?
4-1 anybody?
I know too early to say anything before both the teams bat. Still..
English Batsmen #7-11 have scored close to 900 runs this series (Indian 7-11 have scored 350):Frustrati. Nevertheless, from 181-7 to 332-10, it doesn't looks good. But from 133-1 to 332 looks alright. Jadeja 4 wickets was very good on a pitch not friendly for spinners. Bumrah and Ishanth with 3 wickets each. I felt sorry for Shami though. Nothing to show for his wonderful bowling. He must've missed the batsman's bat edge 100 times of the 180 balls he bowled. Butler's innings was amazing to watch though.

I am hoping for 4-1. No point winning now when the series is gone. I hope we get smashed in the Asia cup as well, and hope WI surprise us in atleast one test at home too.
Anything that can help rid us of that parasite called Shastri before the Aussie tour.
K L Rahul disappoints again after a good start, he seems to be either getting out too early or gets a good start and loses patience and his wicket :Frustrati
It's again on Pujara and Kohli's shoulders to get India through to a decent total. I'm guessing only a huge first inning total say 500+ can give us any chance of winning this test, otherwise it will be another loss or a draw if England decide to bat out their second innings slowly.
Curran's dismissal of Rahul reminded me of Akram after a long time, not quite ball of the century that the illustrious Rahul got, but a beauty nonetheless.
Left-armer hitting top of off stump to a right-handed bat squaring up off a good length is as close to perfect as it can get. I'm a bit partial to left-armers, of course, being one myself.
Kohli out and it looks like another pathetic Indian batting procession to the pavilion :Frustrati
Edit:170/6, Vihari not out 25. Wow, what a way to make a debut with wickets falling all over.at the other end, our team sure knows how to give jitters to a newcomer!
I really want them to go down 4-1, if not Shaz/Kohli at the press will say the series was close and well fought. With 4-1, atleast hoping they will lose their attitude and try to restrospect. No point blaming the bowlers to get England to 332 as Butler and the tail yet again proved they are far better than our openers.

That delivery reminded me of Rahul Dravid's dismissal in that famous Chennai Test ages back. Offcourse, that Akram delivery did a lot more than Curran. Not too sure how many here remember it!
This English seam attack of Broad & Anderson is really something, everyone is only too busy criticizing the techniques of Indian batsman but these guys really make the ball talk.

Yes, that's the one I was referring to.
that's
It wasn't just the delivery that got him out, it was also the setup that led to it. Bowling great Vs. Batting great. Absolute treat to watch.clap:
Yet another agonizing 30~50 run loss, anyone? :D

May even be a bigger loss, 240/7 at lunch on day 3, still trailing by 92 runs.
irrespective of pitch conditions, i wish if we had played jaddu in place of pandya in first 4 test matches... and if we had played pujara in the first test, i am sure results could have been different!
