Parthiv
Rahul
Pujara
Kohli
Rahane
Pant
Jadeja
Bhuvneshwar
Ishant
Shami
Bumrah
This would be ideal from what we have, gives us four good pace bowling options. Vijay is finished, it was so obvious in England itself. Wonder why they even picked him here.
I rate Jadeja a better bowler than Ashwin. Him and Bhuvi can easily make up for Talent Sharma's contribution too.
I will prefer Rahul to be dropped too but sadly we don't have any other opener in the squad.
Ideally winning combinations aren't tinkered with but with Kohli you never know. My 11 will be
Vijay ( 1 more chance as Shaw will replace him in 3rd test)
Rahul ( 44 in 2nd innings may give him 2 more matches)
Pujara (obvious)
Kohli (obvious)
Rahane (obvious)
Pant (obvious)
Ashwin
Bhuvneshwar (will Make runs and great bowling option)
Ishant
Shami
Bhumrah
Vihari or jadeja can also replace Rohit but considering the pitch Bhuvi is the best choice.
Shaw still recuperating from his ankle injury, Rohit picked up a small back injury and Ashwin has a groin injury. All three are ruled out of the Perth test tomorrow. with 2 spots open, I feel Jadeja and Bhuvi will be good replacements. But Umesh, Hanuma, Kuldeep will make the selection difficult.

Rohit being out is ok at this stage. Can be replaced by Hanuma.
Ashwin will be missed, but Jadeja has usually succeeded when he was given a chance after being dropped for an earlier test. Hope he does well this time too. Jadeja adds to batting strength as well.
Bhuvi or Umesh - will be good if the new drop in pitch will be anything like the old Perth WACA pitch.
I think Umesh should be given a opportunity. If there is bounce, we would have a very good fast bowling unit. Spin is not that strong. We dont have one spinner who would be automatic and always part of the team. Jadeja should take the added responsibility for batting in place of Rohit.

Think of it- we can pick Umesh and Vihari. If Vihari, Vijay and Kohli can give us 15 overs, I think it'll be a good bet. We've to remember that the game is not in WACA, so I guess that rules out the traditional bouncy WACA pitch.
Ideally- Ishant and Shami for longer spells and Bumrah and Umesh for short attacking spells.

The new wicket is supposed to be a "spicy" track, much like the old WACA days.
2 changes should be.
Jadeja for Rohit
Bhuvi for Ashwin.
Gives good bowling options and handy tail batting which we desperately need.
Vihari can't be expected to fill in as a bowler plus he has limited to no experience in Australia.
Umesh is more like Shami so playing both doesn't makes sense.
India won the 1st test as the Australian middle order flopped. Australia will be wary of this aspect and will come with stronger determination. Tough game for India. They can take heart that mighty Australian team was humbled in Perth in
2008.

Well this Australian team is anything but mighty. Infact this is the weakest Australian team we have ever had since I have started watching cricket.
All-seam attack for India...surprising!
Debut Test match for the ground, unknown pitch...I would've had at least 1 spinner to be on the safer side. Who knows how this wicket will play over the next 5 days? Also the 4 seamers can't bat at all.
Jadeja and Bhuvi would've been ideal IMO. 1 spinner and both of them can bat as well.
Hope the current selection pays off...
Strong start by Australia. Looks like a decent batting track.

Well, that's exactly I stated few posts back. Jadeja and Bhuvi should be there. Their value as bowlers aside they can bat if we are in a hole. Now 8 9 10 and 11 are walking wickets.
Very good start by Aussies. Good to get 2 wickets. Looks like a batting track and all talks about great pace and bounce was just talks.
Edit- just as I was typing Harris is out. Now we can get them under 300 hopefully.
Never a good idea for any Indian team to go without a spinner in a test match. Ishant looked very flat in the first hour. Don't know if even he is carrying an injury.
Pitch looks interesting. In the morning it looked like it is a good batting strip. But now it looks like it is a bit up and down, both in both pace and bounce. Batsmen will need a bit of luck. Looks like a low scoring match to me.
What a miss by Pant! Dropped a straight nick from Marsh off Vihari. That would have a been a double bonus for Kohli, getting 2 wickets from his part time spinner. I am sure Kohli is already ruing his decision of not picking Jadeja.
