Among all the Test Playing Nations, England is the only place where you will still see the ball move no matter which part of the day it is. Perhaps it has got to do more with the overhead conditions & the Dukes ball.

With the ban on saliva shining the ball is gonna be tough. Couldn't watch yesterday's brief innings. Was there any swing?

England 9 wickets down for less than 200. Holder with 6 and Gabriel with 3 wickets have shattered England. Dom Bess is pushing on though. I was surprised yesterday when Broad was not selected in the playing XI

Yeah, some of the grounds have lost the pace though and that has happened all over the world. Cricket these days has become more of a batsman’s game. Old Trafford and Leeds or for that matter Lord’s have lost pace and hence swing has suffered as well but aided by the Dukes ball and some assistance from weather can still put batsmen fed on 20-20 to test.

Port-of-Spain and Perth used to be the fastest grounds around but both of them are now at best described as a mere test center. Watching batsmen these days hop around whenever the ball swings a little or bounces, makes me laugh. You hardly get to see quality swing and seam bowling these days. Test cricket has lost its sheen and that makes me sad.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Who in the world wouldn't love a strong West Indian side!!! Agree that England do not seem to have a potent batting unit, however, West Indies should get all the credit.

Loved the way they played on the 4th and 5th day.

Nice to see West Indies win a test match and what better than to see them beat England in their backyard

England really missed Joe Root and also made a selection blunder in omitting Stuart Broad.

And they dropped blackwood three times, or would have probably ended up winning the test or a much closer match.

Though taking nothing away from WI, showed a lot of character in the fourth inning.

Re: The Cricket Thread

T20 World Cup, to be held in Australia, has been postponed to October 2021. This gives BCCI a window to conduct IPL this year.

Also, the 2nd Test, England Vs West Indies, is turning out to be thriller on Day 5. Enjoying the come back from Windies. Hopefully, they can pull off the magic win once again. And, Stuart Broad has shown his worth already, bagging 3 out of 4 wickets in the fourth innings.

I don't mind. IPL is fun.

I hope Windies don't lose this one. Considering 35 overs remaining and 4 wickets to go England are favourite right now.
