It is more because of the overcast conditions now. It will favour Ishant, Bhumrah & Shami. The way the 1st over was bowled, I believe we would have some heat from Indian bowlers as well.

Shami bowls an excellent bowl to get Sibley out. This is some comeback by Bhumrah & Shami. Now lets get the most priced wicket SOON!

Re: The Cricket Thread

Purely from a cricketing perspective, Root is head and shoulders above all other batsmen playing in this contest.I love the way how he picks the deliveries to be scored off and this guy scores at a decent clip.

Root out, England 73-5 we're in with a chance now
Day 5 has been a great watch and Indian team has turned the tables and dominated all day.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Surely can't be a tale of two tails in ONE day?

Imagine Shami getting MoM for batting! Truly turned the match around with Bumrah in session 1.

Re: The Cricket Thread

The drop catch of Butler hopefully does not cost us the match.

Kohli is over excited to be in the slips. He is like a jumping jack to every delivery been missed by the batsman. Technically slip fielders need to be clam, sharp and see the ball till the end. Sometimes I feel, Kohli's jumping is distracting Pant and Rohit Sharma as well.

30 overs to go. Sam Curran and M Wood are good batsmen as well. We need some quality deliveries from Bhumrah, Shami and Ishant to get them out. May be Jadeja exploit the rough on the off side of the right handed batsman?

And a no ball wicket. Spinner bowling a no ball is a CRIME!!

With this, they would need 14 wickets to win

Re: The Cricket Thread

Finally, jumping jack does not start celebrating before the catch is taken. Great one hour coming up. England should have been 9 down though, 2 dropped catch, one wicket on no ball.

King pair for Curran!!

Golden pair for Curran!!
King pair for Curran!! Man, this is brilliant. Those starring looks, words all around, one frame having almost 9 players in it. Pure joy!

Re: The Cricket Thread

Is he the SAMe Curran who tormented India last time around!?

Hope Butler's drop catch and delayed declaration do not hurt/haunt India. Ideally India should have declared at lunch.

Has started to look that way. Both Buttler and Robinson looking quite comfortable at the crease. Plus tiring bowlers and ball getting softer.

Just need 3 magic balls in 12 overs!!

Re: The Cricket Thread

There was a time when Indian players would be mute spectators to sledging. We've come a whole circle now when Kohli leads from the front in this department as well. He is targeting each and every English player who exchanged words with our players Iike Siraj and Bumrah. Good thing is he doesn't start these chats but once someone from the opposition does, he makes sure they get back the taste of their own medicine.

Possibility of a draw is again looming, but just need three good balls to finish off the English innings.

Edit: England 9 wickets down, India on the brink of a famous win, an Independence Day gift

Hoping Bumrah gets Anderson, deserves it.

Done - Siraj seals it with Anderson's wicket!

Re: The Cricket Thread

Excellent, excellent win, with almost everyone contributing at some time or the other. The pacers fully justified Kohli's selection logic. Bring on the 3rd test!
