At the start, if you had asked pakistan to chase 150, they would have taken it. In the bowling front neither Bhuvi or Shami are in great T20 form.

Lets see what Bumrah can do.

There is nothing in the pitch. It was just the initial pressure and Pakistan's homework on Rohit Sharma which led to our horrible powerplay.

Neither Shami nor Bhuvi is looking threatning. And why on earth Kohli started with Bhuvi when he had Bhumrah & Varun?

If not for Kohli's wonderful knock and Rishabh Pant's gritty inning, we would have struggled to get 130+. Great reply by Kohli to shut the mouths of Kohli-baiters around the world, he's simply invaluable to the team as he just proved again today.

Hardik struggles when the ball is slow and just proved that again today. His bat speed coupled with speed at which the ball is bowled to him in his hitting arc is what gets him runs, not a thinking/innovative batsman when the going gets tough.

Anyways, the job is just half done, need to bowl and field well to restrict Pakistan and win the game, could be anyone's game though.

**KL Rahul was given out to a No-ball ? Sacrilege for a third umpire to miss that in a World Cup game!

It’s a dead wicket. Let’s face it, Pakistan made plans and executed them perfectly. Never let the Indian batting run away with it and kept chipping away at the wickets.

The way the Pakistani openers are batting shows India’s score is under par. As has been the Indian bowling in the power play. Too many balls short or angling down leg. Openers never looked uncomfortable.

Pandya is either acting or injured, when was the last time he was playing? Does not deserve to be in this playing 11 if he is not bowling.

Chakravarty does not play any practice match and walks into playing 11, Ashwin picks wicket but has to sit out clap:

I haven’t really followed Pakistani team lately but what class man. They look so much better than what I last saw of them. No useless show of emotions. They aren’t just winning it rather making a statement. Babar and Rizwan are making a mockery of our world class bowlers making them look like net bowlers. Credit where it’s due. Pakistan deserves to win this one :thumbs up

As for team India, lots to ponder upon. This is just 1 match and the rest of tournament is wide open. We should not let this loss against arch rival Pakistan cloud our judgement. Hoping for better show in subsequent games :)

P.S: Kohli the batter was good but what shitty captaincy. Please step down man. Our best bowler couldn’t even bowl his quota. Probably first time India lost a T20 by 10 wickets? That too against Pakistan in a World Cup match.

There hasn’t been a catch for India to drop. There hasn’t even been any appeal for LBW either. Classy, risk free batting, backed by a pedestrian bowling effort and unimaginative captaincy.

Weren't we supposed to be having the best bowling attack in the game?

Well, everyday is not a Sunday. Nor is every captain a Dhoni. Pakistan will win the match because of batting - theirs and ours: we will lose it because of bowling (again) - theirs and ours!

Had this not been an India-Pak encounter, I would certainly have enjoyed Rizwan & Azam's calm and clinical run chase. Superb partnership.

On a side note, its good that we lose in the initial stages. Hope this will push us to peak at the right time.

Pak played a brilliant game.

For us, Bhuvi and Hardik are useless. Ash and Thakur should replace them. Batting barring kohli and pant was pathetic. Shami again expensive and bowling without any plans. Jadeja has forgotten how to take wickets since long. He just plays to contain batsman.

Also, whoever bowls second here will be in trouble big time as dew makes spin ineffective and Pacers can't bowl at length.

Still, first game. Shit happens. Need to regroup and do better next game on next Sunday.

Silver lining- Due to karvachauth I wasn't watching it in a club with lots of people otherwise disappointment would be unbelievable.

The worst thing about Kohli's captaincy is the way he shrugs off defeats and gets the team to move on completely. This is good some may say, but for many if the defeat does not affect you badly means you did not put in your 100%

On a brighter side, there wont be any Mauka Mauka Ad now. It was good only for the first few times.
Today Pakistan has achieved two records:

1. Won a T20 match with 10 wickets
2. Won against India in a World Cup

Babar Azam is only 27 yet shows great temperament. If he is been looked after by PCB then he could well be the next great batter from Pakistan post Inzy & Younis.
