New Zealand got to 172 which is a great score - the highest total in a T20 World Cup final and also an excellent effort after they got just 58 off the first 10 overs! Williamson again steps up for them in a big game, lucky though to be dropped when he had just scored 17.

However, it still needs a superlative bowling and fielding effort from New Zealand to win this.

Kane Williamson was brilliant today. He played with the mind of the bowler and executed his dexterous shots. For Australia to win this, they need Warner & Maxwell to score 50+ each or one of them scoring a 80/90.
I am all guns for NZ victory They deserve this cup more than any other team

Let's see what Australia has in store now, whenever New Zealand is in final of an ICC event they just make it exciting.

Looks Australia would chase down this target and the win the world cup. We cannot have a tournament which is dependent on the outcome of the Toss. ICC needs to review this or have world cups in neutral places

Marsh and Warner have taken this game away so this record will stay intact. I don't see New Zealand coming back from this stage. As a neutral it hardly matters. Though NZ have defeated us in crucial matches we still don't feel any dislike towards them like we have for Aussies. So, I am sure most of us would like to see NZ win, but I believe Aussies will win this. They have better batting, better hitters, bowling and fielding both are equal.

Australia in world cups and especially in Finals raises their game to another level. All I want is a good competitive final like the semis with dew not playing spoilsport.

Yes toss was crucial but chasing 173 in a World cup final with so much ease is no joke. Warner set it up and Mitch Marsh carried it on with Maxwell finally nailing it down.

Feel for NZ, so close to a World Cup title once again and yet so far. Kudos to them for playing so well all tournament.

Somehow, I felt Australia (they seemed to be in the doldrums) and RSA (showing glimpses of a strong knitted team) were dark horses. But I guess the fighting spirit and proud legacy is something the tough-talking Aussies carry with them. They were clinical against Pak & NZ*.

Instead of spending a month in a bubble to conduct this farce of a tournament could have just asked all super 12 captains to toss a coin 10 times and award the trophy to the one who called it correctly the most.

Finch didn't do much with his bat in this entire T20 WC but the best possible thing he did was to win 6 out of 7 tosses ! AUS i think lost in WI & Bangladesh but come the big tournament they've delivered.
