Re: The Cricket Thread

What a disaster of batting performance by Sri Lanka. 43 all out. Their lowest total and highest defeat. Nice, powerful performance by SA.

I keep tuning into it to check on the scores. It is sad though there are hardly any spectators for the match between two teams with a lot of history & heritage.

Re: The Cricket Thread

One of my friend made an excellent suggestion regarding the test side selection.

He says the present Ranji champions should represent the nation for the next year! this would encourage people to take it seriously and even the seniors would play in it.

How many think it is a good idea?

Re: The Cricket Thread

^^^ Say Team A wins the Ranji in a season. But a player in Team B has consistently performed for his team despite them loosing that season.

Dont you think it would be unfair for that player to loose out on representing his country?

@josclix - Not practical at all IMO. Imagine if it were Rajasthan v/s Australia in Perth.

The only way to get stars to play in the RT is to play less international cricket.

I loved it. Ever since this match, I've been hoping that somebody will beat them with an even bigger margin. SA finally obliged

Even i loved how they ran over every SL batsmen and with top openers going out for duck was like cherry on cake. Should happen again in this series if they don't wake up.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Is anyone watching the match? Our team is getting hammered left and right by Warner. He is playing like its a 20-20 match and our bowlers are bowling like its a test match

Would have been worse if Aus had not taken it easy at the end of the day. They scored only three runs from the last three overs !!

It would have been even more humiliating if they had ended the day at 161+ (that too, without the loss of any wickets).

Re: The Cricket Thread

Ganguly was incorrect when he said indians have taken a step backward, IMO we have taken ten steps backward. Pathetic is the word which can summarize the effort of our players. 4-0 is inevitable now!

Re: The Cricket Thread

Aussie's have now scored 500 runs without losing a wicket. And we thought this was our best chance to defeat them.

Re: The Cricket Thread

For the Future Indian Team - let youngsters come into play the overseas bouncy track - and I personally advice the BCCI to concentrate more on Test Cricket with lot of youngsters to perform in batting as well as in bowling area - especially we should find good allrounders for the team.

Re: The Cricket Thread

There is something wrong within the team. This is not a skill issue, this is a will issue.
Dhoni is able to turn things around with the ODI team, which does not have the senior player.

This is how the pakistani teams used to implode, when they did not like their captain, and had in-camp fighting amongst themselves.

And this has gone all downhill from the day dhoni bowled a few overs in England.

And the sad part here is, it is we the fans who have to be disappointed every single time. Not Cool. play for the country not yourselves guys.
