India seemed to be too good for the SA team. India was spectacularly in FULL control during the bowling. RP Singh seems to be consistent!

How about giving Irfans brother a look in ... instead of Agarkar and Sreesanth !! The Aussies havn't seen him ( nor have we ) and he might have beginners luck and catch them off guard with his bowling !!! Rest of the team is selected well by you -- maybe we should nominate you for the selectors chair

I thought of it but then he is a spinner and the match will be played late evening where the ball should do something for the seamers, so. but I would like it if we get him in the middle tomorrow. Actually speaking - I would go with Agarkar over Sreesanth. His record against the Aussies is quite good and that confidence will be good for Agarkar. And he is a much better fielder and thrower than Sreesanth.

Well - the team mostly selected itself. Selector's chair - hmm

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

Three questions!

1. What is Dhoni playing? Gully cricket? Test cricket? Hitting every ball hard into the ground?

2. Is the pressure already showing on Dhoni? For he came so late in the innings, infact pushing out the newcomer Rohit to be eaten by the SA bowlers? Though, I must admit that Rohit's innings was probably one of the most mature ones from a debutant I have come across in my life from an Indian in the last decade.

3. Is the captaincy making Dhoni ARROGANT? Remember, he denied Yuvi a place up the batting order saying he is a better hitter? Did anyone notice Dhoni asking Karthik to go back and not advice him or the bowler when the SA batsmen were spanking us?

Making Dhoni the captain could backfire for the Indian team. He is proving to be a more sissy of a captain than Dravid too. He clearly doesn't deserve to lead the cricket team IMO.

He was clearly under severe pressure in the SA game. You could see it on his face when he was fielding near the bowlers. He could not even celebrate the wickets falling with joy. More than his stroke play and the runs he made, I was most impressed by his temperament and composure. Looked calm.

Big hitter he now struggles to clear the boundary.

Making Dhoni the captain could backfire for the Indian team.
I agree. Captaincy could affect his keeping, which is already a very strenuous and vital job. Secondly captaincy has affected his batting style. He probably now feels the pressure to play "responsibly"; he may fear criticism and even being relieved of his captaincy if he continued to bat aggressively and got out playing shots.

I think Dhoni should not have been made captain. But I find Yuvraj's attitude to be totally unacceptable. Sulking becaue Dhoni was given the captaincy ahead of him and then faking injury (if he did do that) is selfish behaviour that ignores the needs of the team, in a vital game at that.

Anyway, the emergence of Rohit Sharma has made Yuvi's action a blessing in disguise. As Ravi Shastri asked "Why are these promising youngsters not being given a chance?" Shastri rightly pointed out that we need to pick these promising youngsters and persist with them even if that means initially we lose a game or two. Shastri was obviously giving a clear hint that our seniors have overstayed their welcome and need to be dropped.
