This thread is turning out to be as exciting as India & Pakistan final.

Well. I think series against Aussies will be interesting as some of the players will be high on confidence and its home grounds

Indian team to follow rotation system for the next 12 ODI's. News is that Sehwag & Rohit are definitely going to make a come back. But when, is to be seen.

They have to, atleast Rohit should be given some good amout of exposure to 50-50 games. He definetly has a bright future. sehwag have already got enough, I don't mind even if he is not included. India needs players not stars

ok how many of us feel that Jogi bowled that last ball on intention - that he saw wat Misbah was attempting and then he bowled it as slow as he possibly could and just short of a length which eventually resulted in Misbah getting the ball high on his bat and his eventual demise - hmm poll perhaps?

Yea. Aussies all the way. Hope to see Hayden thrash Shreesant all over the park.
Everyday is not Saturday and Hussey will be missed.

Hussey and Watson are out of the series with injuries. Ponting will not play in most of the matches, at least in the first 3-4 matches. That puts a lot of pressure on Hayden and Gilly followed by Symonds. But for me the Aussie player to watch out for is Brad Hodge. Also Brad Hogg (is he there in the team?).

I feel these 2 one day matches series - the Australia and Pakistan ones - are going to be the swan song for the Big 3. All of them could announce their retirement from one day cricket.

I feel the teams are equally matched this time and it could again go down to the wire.

Hussey, Watson, Bracken, Ponting? was not aware of him. With these four out, Australians might be a bit shaky.
Brad Hodge, for some reasons is not clicking on International Level compared to his County Level. Hogg has to play, he is the only spinner.
So, the Aussie team looks somewhat like this:
Gilchrist, Hayden, M.Clarke, Symonds, Haddin, B.Hodge, B.Hogg, S.Clark, B.Lee, Johnson, J.Hopes.

And what about the new set of rule, might be implemented in these ODIs.

The following changes to playing conditions were agreed:

# An additional fielder will be allowed outside the fielding circle during the second or third power play in a ODI.

# If an ODI innings is reduced, the numbers of overs making up each of the three Powerplays shall be reduced proportionately.

# If a bowler bowls a front foot no-ball in a ODI, the following delivery will be deemed a free hit and the batsman cannot be dismissed by the bowler from that delivery.

# There will be a mandatory change of ball after 35 overs of each innings in a ODI; the replacement will be a clean used ball.

Minimum boundary sizes in all international matches will be increased with the square boundary measuring at least 150 yards from one side of the ground to the other (minimum 65 yards on one side; previous total minimum size was 140 yards); and the straight boundaries 70 yards at both ends (previous minimum was 65 yards); maximum boundaries to be used allowing for three yards between boundary rope and advertising boards up to a maximum of 90 yards from the centre of the pitch.
(Rules:Cricinfo.com)

I like the 2nd, 4th and 5th rule.

Terrific - can we add this to the list of 'official' smileys? Though this can hardly be called a "SMILE"y
