Well jaffer had a bad tour this time coz he had dravid for company and after even 10 overs the score would be like 5 runs. So he had to take risks and each time he did that he lost his wicket!
Just imagine you standing on the non strikers end and the striker is giving maidens over maidens!!! Feels good or what?
Now coming to karthik i think you should try him out in place of jaffer once coz jaffer also scores something in the range of 10 runs. Now if karthik gets 20 or more thats what we call valuable contribution

The lead is 170 now. Time for Team India to grind out for 4 sessions and score 300 more runs.

Target for Aussies - 470 in 5 sessions - Mmmmm... mouth-watering prospect :-)

Ponting & Co are gonna toss and turn in their sleep tonite ... I don't think the Aussies ever been on their heels ever at this pitch as this pitch is meant to be a fast bowlers dream pitch . Good job by the pace attack though if Sachin had held on to that sharp catch of Symonds early in his innings -- the score card cud have been much different .

All in all ... good show by the Men in Blue after the fiasco at the last test --- lets hope we can keep them on the mat . Sehwag needs to get some big runs tommorrow along with Pathan as that would break the Aussies completely . Then the rest can come in and make hay .....

As ntomer said ... 5 session - 450 runs reqd , a perfect set up for a smacking !!

Target of 450 runs in two days for aussies will definitely give them a hope for victory (assumption is INDIA will score 300 runs tomorrow)

They will attempt to go for 17th consecutive victory even at the cost of losing the game. As Gilli pointed out it might boil down to mental game at some point of time. Remember Aussies has scored 500+ twice (8wickets and 5 wickets down) before they declared their innings against South Africa and England at the same ground though its not an 4th innings. Also once they have scored 600+ against SL.

We need to push them to a state where they need to look for survival for the remaining days rather than going for the kill.

Tomorrow first hour is very important and let's hope both Pathan and Shewag get through that section.

Highest forth inning total at perth is 381 runs

Well, Sehwag & Dravid had other plans for the day so they've gone; hope this is not the start of a procession. We MUST bat through the day & one session tomorrow if anything "different" is to happen..............

Chalo - Tendlya gone - 230 ahead and 4 down already. Dhoni looks to be in pain with the hit he took on the shoulder yesterday.

So now - what target can we give the Aussies?

Pathan came as nightwatchman to protect the likes of Dravid, Tendulkar & Ganguly and where are they ?!
Next time let Dravid, Tendulkar or Ganguly come as nightwatchman to protect Pathan, who will apply himself & fight it out

I wish, man; but it looks very unlikely. The lead is 276 right now, and India will do well to stretch it to 400.

Definitely Australia is in advantage with India leading by 276 runs and 5 wickets in hand. These 5 wickets is in mere paper as we know how good Aussies are in running through the tail.

After lunch break Lee would be looking to remove a wicket or two. First 10 overs after lunch is going to be very important. Anything lesser than 350 would not be a competitive match to watch else depend on RP/Pathan/ISharma to do some magic
