Fire or Retire !

Fire or Retire Team India's new mantra !

BTW, Jayawardane lauds Indian seamers. I guess he must be really scared to face the Indian seemers , after seeing them in action in Brisbane !!!!

Tue 05-Feb-08 8:45 AM 2nd Match - India v Sri Lanka, Brisbane Cricket Ground, Woolloongabba, Brisbane. Keep hooked to Star Sports or DD1.

Jayasurya is fit to play and I wonder whether he can handle the Indian pace attack on a broken chin (after being shaken up a Aussie bouncer ).

Can't expect the team to win all its matches. Law of averages has to catch up. Wish the T20 tournament was a series. BTW, Aussies have been bowled out for 79, in less than 15 overs.

With SL, India were 88/4 with Sachin, Shewag, Yuvaraj and R.Sharma back to the dressing room.

Now what Veng and Co will be thinking is "Why did we select this inexperienced team who can't stay at middle for even 10 overs."

Come on, the only "youngster" who has failed so far in the game today (145/4) is Rohit Sharma who was done in by a wrong Umpire's decision.

Are you saying that Yuvraj is a full-fledged "senior" then?

Well, in ODIs he sure is!!!

He is one of the ICONs in IPL, along with Sachin, Sourav and Rahul.

I wonder why they played Yuvi today. He is woefully out of form and his failure against Murali was inevitable!!!

P.S. India are 159/4 after 39 overs, and looks like a score of 230-240 is on the cards. Will it be competitive?

Yuvi can't be left out on form from the one day team. Its only his fitness that will keep him out, especially since he is the only experienced guy in the middle order.

If that's the case, then it's SAD. Since the guy isn't in any kind of touch and watching hi struggle at the crease is painful.

Seems like we will cross 250. Good recovery!

And Gambhir gets to his century, well done!

India ends on 267/4.

Unbroken partnership of 184 between Dhoni and Gambhir.

Gambhir - 102 off 101 b alls; Dhoni 88 off 95 b alls. Excellant effort.

267/4: Tremendous batting by India's young guns - what do you say about the recovery after losing early wickets? Its the stuff that made Aussies the world beaters. Hats off to the selectors for choosing such a brilliant team (and showing the seniors where they belong).

267/4 - seems a good total to defend.
