The match is by no means over yet. Uthappa and the tail can still get the runs.

In the previous match against Australia, we had Gambhir going in at No. 4, below Pathan at No. 3. In this match Gambhir opens. So why didn't Gambhir go in at No. 3 in the previous game, ahead of Pathan? This match Pathan seems to have done his bit at No. 3 by adding 35 runs with Gambhir. But again, why sacrifice Pathan when he can contribute so much more in the lower order?

We have to pay the price for this kind of irrational decision-making.

Edit: Speaking of irrationality in our decision-making, just had a look at the Indian bowling figures. With 5 bowlers in the team, Yuvraj Singh bowls 4 overs for 22 runs, at the expense of Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel and Sreesanth. All of whom bowled quite tight, at ~3 runs per over, and did not get their full quota of overs for some inexplicable reason. With all 5 bowlers showing their worth, why give the ball to part-timers like Yuvraj?

Uthappa/sreesanth gone. India require another 11 runs to deny aussies bonus point

Edit: Aussies have taken a bonus point. India sliding from Win with Bonus-Win-Losing the game-Losing the game with bonus point to aussies . Sachin have not given a good start and thats one prime reason for losing the game

Its all over. Aussies defeat India by 50 runs.

Points to ponder:
1) Capitancy of Dhoni.
2) Top order batsmen failure consistently.
3) Time to think to bring back some experienced lot which can be a backbone of middle order.
4) Dump the Current Selectors and appoint a fresh lot.

Young blood fizzles out yet again!

Only the bowlers are performing, and by getting rid of experienced batsmen, the young blood is clueless to handle the Aussie attack.

Time to sack Dhoni as Captain and bring back some of the performing seniors!

hold on man.

1) I guess Dhoni did everything right except call wrong for the run when he was run out.

2) Top order ? Sachin has failed, Gambhir and Rohit have done pretty ok, Pathan is a waste at 3 but he did ok too, Yuvraj got some form back but lost it in the middle.

3) Not again !!

4) Not again !!

But what ever he talks, he needs to put them in action. Give the guys a strict message that if they don't perform they will be out.

Don't understand couple of points though:

1) Why Raina not selected in 11. They are more experienced & mature than these 20-20 guys.
2) Why Robin is not on top of the order. After all he is a opening batsman for Karnataka.
3) Why Kaif is not selected?

There always has to be a balance between the youngsters and experienced. Atleast for someone who is the captain has to have more experience than Dhoni. I feel its time for Dravid or Ganguly to take the crown again. Dhoni has immense potential and I feel he can concentrate on his batting/keeping skills at this stage. He can become the captain again after Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly retire.

As per TOI, Bangalore today's edition Pepsi has replaced Dravid and Ganguly with Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma as their advertising material . SRT remains w/ Pepsi.

Quite a disaster!! 203 seemed quite possible. And as usual, the team crumbles under pressure, and there goes another game from our hands!

Guys, give some credit to the Aussies rather than indulging in 'youngster' bashing.

I can remember so many matches when our team packed with 'seniors' has failed miserably while chasing small targets.

I would rather India failed with youngsters in the team than with the seniors in saddle. Atleast their fielding and running between the wickets is something to look forward to.

As for the call to sack Dhoni, all I would say is :. Lol

Chill guys, there are few difficult steps on the way, but India will make it the destination.

Those who so feel oldies would have made any difference must have started watching cricket rather late, or their memory is short. Here is what the oldies combo - Ganguly, Sachin, Dravid & Laxman - have achieved in their peak:

Year 2000 Triseries, India fails to reach the finals

Cricinfo - Matches - Carlton & United Series, 1999/00

Year 2004 Triseries, India beaten black & blue
Cricinfo - Matches - VB Series, 2003/04

In their peak, the oldies combo have won 1 of 10 ODIs against Australia in Australia. The lone win was due to tremendous batting by Laxman, who is not in contention of an ODI place anyway. To expect them to do something phenomenal now, (in this age of theirs) is a bit too much.
