Today let's vow to make our beloved country a better place to live in. Let's not complain about every little shortcoming of our country and instead let's strive to make it a better Nation to live in.

I received an SMS from my friend today , felt like sharing with you all.

What is India today ?

A nation where pizza reaches faster than an abulance/police
Where you get Car Loan @ 5% but education load @ 12%
Where people worship godess durga but want to kill their girl child
Where Olympic shooter wins gold Govt gives 3 crore, Another shooter dies fighting at border Govt pays 1lakh

Really "INCREDIBLE INDIA"
Is this for what we achieved our hard earned freedom for !!!?

After 62 years of independence, if we make a balance sheet of our country, the assets will be few but the list of liabilities will be long, long and very long. I see our 'Bharat' (does any body remember this name?) more as a 'Comedy of Errors' rather than a country of which we can be proud of.

The SMS list quoted by V&V above, can be enhanced to fill 1000 pages and still some comedies will be left.

- Here politicians and Bureaucrat have become the new Maharajas as so are above the law.
- To be eligible for a sarkari peon's post, one needs to be educated, in good health and should have a crime free record. But to become a law maker, you should be corrupt to the core and a criminal. Illiteracy and tottering health is no dis qualification.
- Democracy means - Freedom to do what ever you like, laws be damned.
- Prize for designing the national currency emblem -Rs. 2.5 lacs, Cost of hiring one air conditioner Rs. 4 lacs.
- Any body speaking the national or native language is considered dumb or duffer and so on and on and on.

I am sorry I dont see a country of which we can be proud of.

Funnily enough, there's an imbalance of the kind of independence we have. We're safe to do wrong things today, pay bribes and all, and die happily. But if you expose those who take bribes, you get killed.

welcome to the new India! as far back as i can remember, India has been a developing/3rd world nation. even today we're "developing" whereas countries who got independence after us are developed, world class economies! i wonder will India become "developed" in my lifetime!

Me and my friend were discussing the same thing today. The situation in India is very complex, and very delicate on some parts. It's like an equation with too many variables. You don't even know if there's a solution.
