Fishing Spots In & Around Hyderabad

Hey Guys,

Over the years and with some travel outside India, I was able to collect some decent and good quality fishing equipment. Did some when I was in north, but since I have moved to Hyderabad I have not found a place to satisfy this hobby of mine (mine is for "recreational pastime" & not for food).

Any fellow member here who can guide me in this regards ?

Cheers,
Rajat

After it rains heavily you can find most of places around Hyderabad. Example the road connecting to Cyber Towers and JNTU. Jokes apart, I have not come across any such places with in Hyderabad.

Best places that comes to mind are :-

1. Shamirpet Lake
2. Gandipet

If you scout that area, you can find an ideal place to use your fishing machinery.

You can try fishing in the nagasamudra lake near vikarabad ( around 75 kms from hyd )
or the shameerpet lake ( 30 kms frm hyd ) , been there once and saw a lot of dead fish due to dry weather , should be good in rainy season.

Bang on! this is what I was looking for,

How safe is the area, I mean if I take my family then are there any precautions one should be taking, or is it a place where only stags can roam around.

it is quiet safe place, dont carry any guns with you though, because it is in the reserve forest area and it illegal to even carry a gun without the bullets, you go to this particular spots through small villages and you will not have any problem, make sure you carry loads of water and all the gear , you wont even need a guide
ps; last time we were there found a leopard and a cubs pug marks all over the river bank =]Fishing Spots In & Around Hyderabad-pug.jpg

There are a couple of water bodies in Hyderabad, where you can surely do some fishing.

Near Shaikpet, enroute to Gachibowli you will come across a Lake, where many people go down for recreational fishing. There are about 4-5 Lakes on the Toli Chowki - Gachibowli strech, where in you can surely do some recreational fishing.
