Best Time to leave for Pune?

Whats the best time to drive from Bombay to Pune after 3 pm? Have to be there on Monday evening, and cant take the entire day off from work.

Suggestions to beat the traffic?

Afternoon is best, around 330-4pm as you mentioned. Truckers usually snooze just after lunch, so that is the best time. Plus you beat rush hour traffic by getting out of Bombay before 5pm.

Yes to beat Mumbai traffic 330-4pm is a good time but you reach Pune at a horror time though (approx 630-7pm)...but still thats okay in case you have stuff to do in Pune the same evening....
ideally , the best time would be early morning from Mumbai (say 630am)

There are two ways of getting into Pune , from Aund or the Baner road , let me know where in Pune you need to go so I can suggest the route with the least trafic , I do Pune - Mumbai every week!

I would say leave at 4.30 to 5 (haven't considered mumbai traffic but taken 1 hr approx) so then you will reach pune by 8 (traffic kinda get better that time)
but it depends on where you have to go in pune
if we can know the location can advise better

Yep Adya is right & as he said if you tell the location it would be much easier to tell about traffic conditions.

Btw let us know if you can get time for a small meet

Techno, how about a meet after that at the 1000 Oaks? Thats my favorite watering hole in pune. And their barmans pitcher!

I would have been in for a meet (especially at 1000oaks) as I am close to that area right now but I am going for a late night movie at Inox (also closeby) :-s
