Well I think MSN works on ur login ID. All E mails are based on diff servers of Microsoft Servers. How do they identify re-routes the MSN 8 traffic through MSN7 servers ?? I can do a registry hack & change the version from MSN 8 to MSN 6 too, does that mean MSN will log me to some other servers just bcoz I have an old version ?

Kindly explain ?

You can install Windows Live messenger without invitation (invites still on?) it works using a patch or "downgrader" this downgrader will bypass/reroute the Windows Live Messenger beta tester check and sign you into the MSN instant messenger network.

Ok i installed this bout 5-6 months back so whether it works or not NOW i dont know. And you can't registry hack ur way into MSN 8/Windows LIVE for logins.

check out these links

MSNP13DowngraderSetup.exe

A-Patch

Ok...here goes,
Many of you may have got your solutions via pm or other ways so this is for the other members.

Confusion over whether the Windows Live Messenger Beta is really public or not! Short answer: YES, IT IS! So stop arguing.

At the start of the week anyone was able to just download the Beta in the language of his or her choice via the links we published. Then, I think it was about half a day later, the freeloading was put to an end and uninvited passports were blocked again (as reported by Messers poodoo*, King Antonius, The_Sickness_14 & Marko). Some people believe it was a temporary server glitch that accidentally let the door open and got fixed as soon as our news spread, but we think Microsoft just added an extra step to their public beta enrollment, to be on the safe side. See, you can just as easily download and use the Windows Live Messenger without being invited, provided that you agree with the Beta's Terms of Agreement first.

Step-by-step:
1. Sign into your Passport with the account you want enabled for the Windows Live Messenger Beta (eg. by logging into Hotmail). TIP: Use Internet Explorer. Firefox won't work.
2. Click here and click "I agree".
3. Click the "Download now" button on the next page or download the Beta in another language.

The Messenger team has stated that they may reintroduce the waitlist in certain countries if people start signing up at some speed racer pace.

Its actually Windows Live Messenger.
Works good, but in my opinion lacks simplicity of 7.5

The best thing is that you can log in to Yahoo messenger account with help of this messenger.
Go to http://ideas.live.com/
Under Windows Live Messenger you will see note saying

At last! Now you can use Windows Live Messenger to talk to all your friends who use Yahoo! Messenger with Voice.
Below there might be a link saying Try it.
Click there & install/re-sign in & your done.

I wouldn't advise upgrading to WLM yet... it's still buggy. Only yesterday, they solved an error that caused all my contacts to vanish. Worse still, none of my contacts could see me online even after I added them manually. It was fixed late yesterday and is working fine now.

My point is, it's not stable yet, though fast and working well. You cannot downgrade to MSN 7.5 if anything goes wrong, so take your time if you are heavily dependent on msn msngr.
