Fantastic thread! I always wanted to have an eco-friendly ganesh festival, I will try my hand at creating the idol this way sometime this year. Maybe next year we will have the festival, in an eco-friendly way! :thumbs up That's a nice way to save the environment as well as enjoy a different creativity. Very nice clap:

Well this is how my 4yr old made her Ganpati this year round.Was pure pleasure to smell the mud.

I have a Ganesha Modeling competition at office today (two hours later).
This is the first time I will be doing something like it.
So yesterday, I took my nephew's clay dough to practice. without any reference like a video or a picture, just out of imagination, I did a Ganesha.

Not bad for a first attempt eh!

The ganesha that i made in the competition was not that great. With only 45 minutes given to each contestant, i found myself short of time for painting (i was the only contestant who painted the idol)

The clay provided to the contestants was of wonderful quality and there were some leftover.
I requested the organising team and took 3 kilos home.
Later in the night, me and my sister sat together to make an idol and after 2.5 hours, we were really happy with the result...

Just amazing, This DIY (pun intended) is the best in its category.
The detailing is quite intricate. Do post picture of painted idol.

Now only if someone find a better solution to NOISE polluting drummers.
