2. 'Krishnegowdana Aane' by Poornachandra Tejaswi
3. Harry potter ...Nth time revision ;-)
4. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, by Robert Pirsig-- never manage to complete it no matter how many times I start.

Believe it or not..got hold of ROMMELS PAPERS... an original edition autographed by Mrs.Erwin Rommel herself..... mindblowing stuff...a hand written account of Rommels campaigns during WWII

For those who have never heard of Rommel:::: one of Adolfs Hitlers best generals who became famous during the African campaign during WWII...

And for those who have never heard of Adolf Hitler... I have nuthing more to say!!!

Currently trying to read this book - Decline and fall of the Roman empire - fat history book - got influenced into reading it by reading the asimov foundation series this year - which would rank in my top 5 ( fiction) - albeit all 5 as a series really together
Top 5 would be
1)Siddartha - Herman Hesse - one of the books that gave me a real perspective on life
2) Foundation series - Asimov
3) A confederacy of dunces- Pat Kennedy o Toole - one of the funniest books
4) Hitchikers guide to the galaxy - the series
5) The Mahabharata ( including the GITA)

Read a lot of non-fiction too but none of them is a favorite - useful, interesting but not fun - if u know what I mean

stopped reading books offlate. but when i was reading (5-6 years ago), i have read a lot of michael crichton, jeffrey archer, sidney sheldon, chase, tom sharpe, wodehouse etc

but wodehouse was the best of all. ever since i started reading wodehouse, i simply lost interest in other books. tom sharpe is another fantastic writer, whose books along with wodehouse i have continued to read still.

but the best fiction of all was Gone with the Wind, Margaret Mithcell. have read it only once & it stays in the mind forever.

1. To kill a mockingbird (Lee)
2. Of human bondage (S. Maugham)
3. LOTR trilogy
4. Liar's Poker
5. Harry Potter series

Not to mention all the wall street scam books

Infact, loads of other favs also but just couldnt decide. Currently going through:
1. "Keys to Kingdom" (Biography of Micheal Eisner)
2. The google Story
3. Complete Works of S.Holmes
4. Emperor's new mind

1. Ken Follett - Pillars of the Earth - A 1000 page real epic of a novel

2. Jeffery Archer - Kane and Able - nobody writes about relationships like Archer does

3. Paulo Coelho - The Alchemist - Wisdom at its best!

4. Dan Brown - Da Vinci Code - The perfect masala novel...has a bit of everything

5. Robert Ludlum - The Road to Omaha - Most people think of Ludlum as an action/thriller writer but he has written two of the funniest books that i've ever read - 'The road to Gandolfo' and its sequel 'The road to Omaha'

Am currently reading Archer's latest book of short stories - Cat O' Nine Tales

Couldn't agree with you more... I havn't been able to put down a book like that since the 1st time I discovered enid blyton at age 7. Was reading the Kite Runner to and from class, during class(under my desk) till I completed it. And was sad that it came to an end. Enjoy it while it lasts buddy

Huge fan of James Clavell, Wilbur Smith, Archer, Dan Browne, Tom Clancy (for pure mindless entertainment). Have built up a collection now that fills 3 whole wardrobes at home.

Another book I enjoyed was Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts.....easy read, but comes across as hyperbolic in some parts....good read though.

All time favorites are James Clavell's Noble House series and Wilbur Smith's Courteney and Ballantyne series.
