Is this limit applicable per calendar month or 1 month since last time the limit was reached?

I paid 75k credit card bill on 27th March and got the cashback on 31st March. Will I get cashback again if I pay today (2nd Apr)?

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Got my HDFC Regalia upgraded to a Diners Black life time free card. Was and still am apprehensive on Diners acceptance, but since it's LTF, no worries about meeting the spend target and can still enjoy the benefits.

I have a long relationship with HDFC plus they have a institute offer where if you are an Alumni of a top institute, you are eligible for a Diners Black LTF card. More details here - Link

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Hey guys needed some credit card guidance

I have a amex platinum card along with indusland legend credit card. We were looking to add one more card as my google and meta ad spends are increasing so wanted a separate card for same. The main idea is to get good points for flights and we prefer flying vistara.

I was convinced for the vistara axis card but i saw HDFC regalia also with some link to vistara and I have accounts in HDFC and like the apple offers they have. What would be better specially for vistara.

Spend would be 2-3 lakhs a month on this card

With those spends, try for the HDFC Infinia; best rewards redemption, esp. on travel, Apple and Tanishq.

What happens to the reward points you accumulated while with Regalia? Would the points lapse or can be redeemed? What redemption rate would be applicable?

Regalia to Diners Black reward points conversion is 0.5 which effectively carries the same value. All your points will be transferred to the new card.

If this is business expenses, please check about usage of personal credit cards for high business spends. Recently read folks getting notices from Axis and HDFC. They do offer business cards and you may explore them.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I applied for Tata Neu HDFC Infinity Plus Rupay card on Saturday and got an email saying I'm provisionally approved pending virtual KYC which I completed yesterday. The rep said I will get a confirmation text message after the KYC session but I didn't get one nor an email. Is there anywhere I can check the status of the application? If anyone had went through this process recently, do share how long it took for you. I was surprised I didn't get a virtual card number and welcome email after KYC like most other banks do nowadays.

Status is available in the Tata Neu app. Took about 6 business days for the physical card to reach me. The virtual card was generated much earlier but HDFC IVR would not let me create the pin for use.

Note - Tag this card to Paytm. Success rate in Tate Neu is pretty poor and almost always forces you to pay via a bank account. Paytm on the other hand works as desired.

Thank you! Found it. Never occured to me I should install the Tata Neu app and check. I never installed the Neu app and applied for the card from the mobile browser.

Yes, main reason for me to get this card is to use this for UPI QR payments. I use Paytm as my primary UPI app already and hence good to know the Neu card works well with it.

I would suggest going with Axis Magnus as it offers a good return of almost 24.8% in terms of miles on a spend of 1 lakh. For instance, if we spend 1 lakh per month on Axis, we get 25,000 bonus points plus an additional 6,000 points, which amounts to 31,000 points. These points can be transferred to any Star Alliance partner where you can book international flights or Vistara for domestic flights at a ratio of 5:4, which turns out to be 24,800 miles.

For the remaining spends, one can use Axis Atlas, which also offers a good amount of rewards. This combination can help save a considerable amount of miles, and as the amount is divided, it will not be considered mostly as high business spends.

Explore AMEX cards. Their point system is quite good. I have been using AMEX charge card since 2003. Their platinum cards are excellent for travel, but have a steep annual fee.

You are right, it doesn't explicitly say that 1 cash back point is 1 rupee, now when I checked. But I do remember seeing it mentioned as "1% cashback" or something along those lines.

However, irrespective of the explicit mention, it is indeed converted at 1:1 rate.

There is also this mention where cash back/reward points is directly mentioned in terms of rupees.
