Re: The Credit Card Thread

I recently linked my Axis Bank Ace CC to my Gpay, and have been trying to pay my electricity bill (approx 6500), but the transaction does not complete giving me an error message that the UPI limit for the bank has been exceeded.

Called up help they said no reason for the error. Any one facing a similar problem? What could be the solution?.

HDFC Diners black - 2% mark up. Please check whether you activated Global value program at 200rupees per year which gives 1% as cashback for international transactions till 1000 INR. If you do international transactions regularly, it will be beneficial.

ICICI charges 3.5% Mark up. Avoid.

I don't know about other two cards.

I've seen the limit issue on gpay when paying for a merchant the first time. Try if you can pay a smaller amount first.

Another stupidity on gpay. If you upload a QR code, there is some limit but not when scanning the same QR. So once I forwarded the image to a friend and just scanned it

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Is anyone using the SBI BPCL Octane Credit Card? How many days does it normally take for approval? I had applied around 10-12 days back and have had 3 verification calls till now. The customer care isn't of any help. My credit score is Excellent (as per Experian).

This is implemented because scams typically happen that way wherein some scamster will Whatsapp you their QR code so that you can "receive money"; typically targeting folks who put everyday items on sale on Facebook marketplace, olx, etc. Scanning the code on the other hand is not associated with scams.

GPay has implemented this because they have teams who try to understand the pattern behind scams and plug loopholes.

Please send a mail with all details, including screenshots to Grievance.Redressalcc@hdfcbank.com. The turn around time is about 2 days for initial reply. After that they may take upto 10 days for final reply. But you can keep your case if you are not satisfied with the reply.

If you already have an existing HDFC credit card, Why not convert it to a RuPay card? If so, the process is quite simple.

Thanks, will try this.
Got a virtual Rupay HDFC CC from HDFC My cards app with a annual fee of Rs.250+GST (Spending
25000/yr gets it reversed)

The card was setup in 5 mins sharing my existing HDFC CC limit and did a purchase y'day and all is well

Maybe this is the shortest route.

I have a HDFC Business Moneyback card. Can it be converted to Rupay card? What is the procedure?

You can easily request to convert your old HDFC credit card into a RuPay card by sending them an email. Within 5 days, you should receive your new RuPay card. I followed the same process and received my RuPay card on the 5th day. After adding it to Paytm, it has been working flawlessly.

However, please note that the card number will change during the conversion process. If you have saved the old card details in various apps like Zomato or Uber, you will need to add the new card or consider using UPI for payments, which is also a simple option.

I mailed on July 5th and received the new RuPay card on July 10th.

Thanks. This looks like quite a simple procedure. Seems like in my case I will have to visit the branch as their is a spelling mistake on my card which I was thinking to rectify anyway. So, will ask them to reissue the card as Rupay with correct spelling. Will wait a few days as my Axis Indian oil rupay card application video kyc was done yesterday. So, if that's approved will keep Hdfc card as visa only otherwise will convert it into Rupay card.
