Did you generate the QR CODE using the Axis app or went for a direct swipe?

How much did they charge per guest?

Generated QR code in the app. Paid 2300 or something for the kid.

I was told it is the same for bringing guest on Infinia too.

Utilities payment has additional 1% over and above payment gateways fee for anything above 75K which for me is always.

If you could guide, it would be great.
HDFC BizBlack is a diners card for which I am charged 0.72% + GST which comes to ~0.85%. So it is less than 1%. I use it for income tax and GST payments only, so can't exactly tell you about electricity bill payment charges. For the amount I spend on these payments I get 3.33% RPs which are valued at Re.1 (I plan to redeem on miles). Currently I am accumulating RPs so I can gift my papa and chacha US round trip tickets. These points have 3 years validity. On top of this I get 5x RPs on these payments. 5x reward is upto 7500 RPs.

Example: Monthly expenses
Advance tax: 30000
GST: 35000
Fuel: 8000
Online shopping: 10000
Offline shopping: 5000

Total spent: 88000
Normal 3.33% RP spends: 88000 less 8000 (fuel): 80000 x 3.33% = 2664 RPs gained
5x RPs 5 x 3.33% = 16.67%: Eligible spends: 30000 + 35000 = 65000 x 16.67% = 7500 RPs gained (max limit reached, without limit it would be 10835 RPs)
Total RPs gained: 2664 + 7500 = 10164 RPs which is more than 11% yield.

Rs.5000 voucher (Taj/Smartbuy flights) on every 5 lakh milestone is an added bonus. With every 7.5L spend in a year card fees of Rs.10000 (for first year that limit is 1.5L) will be waived. So you will incur only GST amount of Rs.1180 on the fee. So it is good card.

Moral of the story: Do not use it for fuel spends. You will incur fuel surcharge but not gain anything and fuel surcharge will not be waivered. This card is basically for income tax, GST and utilities. In my case just for IT and GST.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Dear friends, I have a query regarding holding multiple credit cards (read 4), courtesy ICICI bank.

Myself and my wife wanted to have a credit score so we both decided to get 1 credit card each. I am already using an amazon pay ICICI bank card happily since 2 years. My wife just got herself an ICICI card with a limit of 50,000 last month.

Long story short, now I have the following cards at present:
1. Amazon Pay ICICI card: Only con is its low limit that leads to breach of the 30% credit utilization rule very easily.

2. PNB Rupay card (4 months old): useful for UPI transactions and even fuel surcharges are reimbursed.

3. ICICI Rubyx Dual cards (Amex+Mastercard), just days old: Interestingly, they gave me a very high limit of 5.5 lacs so I dont wish to cancel this as my utilization ratio will remain low due to this limit.

Queries:

1. Does having 3 cards with timely payments (Rubyx is a dual so actually 4 cards) keep the credit score lower as compared to 1 card with timely payments?

I am a regular middle class, salaried person but am too tempted with PNB card (allows UPI payments) and higher limit on Rubyx dual. So will close them only if having multiple cards generates a lower score in the long run as compared to a single card.

If you have the axis mobile app, its easy to locate the details of your edge rewards etc. You can transfer points etc., easily from there.
You can pay credit card bill anytime using the same method that you otherwise use. If you are using third party bill payment apps, even then you can make additional payment before bill generation

1. I am in the same connemdurum like you. I have 4 credit cards. Whatever I have researched and read, the number of credit cards do not impact the CIBIL score but the utilisation does. If the utilisation is less than 30% and there are timely payments then there is no problem. Moreover, the length of the credit card usage also makes a difference. I don't know your age however if you have started with credit cards only recently then it takes few years (provided one pays on time and keeps utilisation less than 30%) for you to build a good CIBIL Score (700-800)

2. I have 2 Automobile Loans (1 for a Car and 1 for a Scooter) as well. So having a mix of Credit Cards and Loans which are timely paid, makes a big difference to the CIBIL Score.

Out of curiosity, what is your purpose of such specific actions to build your CIBIL Score?

My credit age with CIBIL is 11 years old (had kept a credit card throughout 2013 and then closed it in 2014). My oldest card that is active is now 1.5-2 years old. If card utilization can be maintained below 10% and timely payments are made, the credit score can easily go over 800.

CIBIL enqueries reduce scores temporarily but not sure if keeping multiple cards has a negative impact or not.

I am in an adhoc job in private sector so have seen my colleague in similar position being denied a loan despite being in Government sector (no previous loan or bad history). If ever I yield to my wife's insistence of getting a home loan in the next few years, a good CIBIL score will surely be a key factor (in my opinion) in getting one.

Directly login to gst.gov.in and then create challan. If your challan is made/saved by your accountant/CA then you have to create a new challan with exact tax amounts as the old challan will not show card option while paying.

If your card limit is less than GST payment you can split and submit challan then pay in full your card limit and do that again. You can only go 3x the card limit i.e. if your card limit is 4L then in a statement month you can use 4 x 3 = 12L in maximum by prepaying.

Charges screenshot also shared 0.72% + GST is least charge in all of the banks options.

There is also option to add your GSTIN for this card to claim GST input. I have not used it as I use it for my two different firms which will complicate things taxation wise.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Hello everyone
I am planning to put the car purchase on my credit card. Might range from 12-17L. The dealer is quoting 2% additional charges. Is this the standard or is the dealer taking me for a ride?
