I got a mailer today indicating the cash back to be 5%. Can you please check your old bills and see how much is the actual cash back you receive?

No, the fuel surcharge waiver from Citibank is only available with the Indian Oil card, not the Cashback card. I have both cards.

So, is the IOCL card from Citi only giving waiver on IOCL pumps or is it for all pumps (just like HDFC cards)?

Re: The Credit Card Thread

It is for all IOCL pumps just as the name of the card suggests.

Well, I have three cards from Citibank (Premier Miles, Visa Rewards and First Citizen); all three of them have fuel surcharge waiver at IOCL pumps.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I have to rule out Citibank, since I have never really liked any of the IOCL pumps that I have used.
So, I always avoid them.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Has anyone managed an annual fee waiver on citibank Premiermiles card?

My billing is pretty high and always on time however their customer care center refuses to waive the annual fee saying this card is not a spend based one hence fee waiver requests are not applicable.

I have used my Citi Cashback card on the IOCL before SAP Labs in Bangalore multiple times and have always got the surcharge waiver.

5% cashback on movies, telephone and utility bills, 0.5% on everything else. Everytime the cashback amount reaches Rs.500, it is automatically credited to your card account. No concept of reward points.

I've never been charged annual fee for this card. I don't take cards with annual fees (accepting a spend-based waiver clause is at my discretion).

Citibank offers the premier miles card without annual fee if you have a citigold banking relationship with them.

30 lakh INR saving account balance or 15 lakh INR current account balance. Take your pick.

Thanks for the response. I have been getting same mailer almost every day. 0.5% on every thing else does not make much sense for my usage.

pls note that in forex txns, the exchange rate is determined by Visa/Master card and not your bank generally. The 1% you may be referring to is your bank's mark up over Visa/Master card charges. Hope you are not under the impression that 1% is an all inclusive cost to you including the forex conversion rate taken in which case you will be disappointed
