Re: The Credit Card Thread

I did not find this issue discussed before in this thread. After recent mandate by RBI on issues like voiding standing instructions on CC, I am finding that, I am no longer able to use any Indian issued card in transactions which doesn't generate OTP (Ex: Expedia.com, Agoda.com, eBay.com etc). I guess if the website doesn't have an 'Indian' payment gateway (which can generate mobile OTP), you can't use the card at all.

Has anyone else experienced this? This means the card to be used only for INR transactions alone. This could be a big disadvantage to consumers.

Hello!

People using ICICI’s amazon pay credit card- what’s the billing cycle of this card?

Thanks in anticipation of answer.

Saket.

Billing cycle could be anything. You can go in the ICICI app and change the billing cycle as well.

I don't think it's the same for all. My billing cycle is the 18th of each month, with payment due date being the 5th of the subsequent month.

As far as I know, the billing cycle depends on when the card was issued/used first. For example if you got the card on 2nd, the cycle would start on 2nd. If you got it on 15th the billing would start from 15th and if it is 29 then it would be 29th.

Normally you will get a 15 days window to pay after the end of the cycle. So if the CC billing is till 15th, then the pay by date is generally 30th.

Me and my wife have the same billing cycle.
Billed on 18th every month and payment on 5-6th of next one. Is it possible this is default one and people can change it according to their preference.

For me, HDFC: billing cycle ends 17th of the month and due date is 7th (or 8th) of the next month. Axis: 18th and 8th. So for me it's more like 21 days to pay for either bank (rather than 15).

Also, it appears that HDFC and Axis allow 3 extra days compared to ICICI !

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Has anyone seen this CRED secure you card thing? Says as per RBI guidelines but couldn’t find much details. Is there any hidden charges for securing card on CRED?

Did you make similar purchases earlier? I never used CRED pay for any purchase so don’t have much idea on this. Not asking for cvv/otp indeed is scary. Maybe others can shed some light.

For reverting, maybe try archiving the card? Not sure if that would work though.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Using ICIC imobile application, I have changed the billing cycle by one week. That mean you can modify the billing cycle. No idea how many times you can effect this.

You can call them up and talk and see if you can convince them to cancel the fee. Not sure if Diners (HDFC?) would reverse the charges - but others (Amex) certainly do on a case-by-case basis.

I suppose your card wasn't issued under the lifetime-free offers?
