Shrikkanth, Amarnath, Sivaramakrishnan and Ranjit Fernando.

Old thread, lol :D

Coming to people who are in the wrong job.
Aussies are the best commentators I feel. Oh, and my favourite is Bumbles

Damn, we need an option for multi select .It shud be Ranjith Fernando closely followed by the Rest.

Worst :

Sidhu,Charu Sharma,Harsha Bhogle,Ranjit Fernando,Tony Cozier,Arun Lal,Sivaramakrishnan,Srikkanth.
Even Gavaskar is so boring,he can actually force to to feel like committing suicide.Seems as if he hasn't ever played the game from his comments.Very biased, has almost no technical knowledge and has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth all the time.:Frustrati
His observations are so mundane, even a layman who has watched the game for a year can make bettter and more insightful comments.
Of course, the most biased commentators are from Down Under barring a couple.

Best :

Boycott,Ravi Shastri,Ian Chappell,Bill Lawry,Mike Atherton,Richie Benaud.Even David Gower isn't too bad.Wasim Akram for being brutally candid.
Rameez and Aamir Sohail are very funny to listen to because of the numerous gaffes they make. lol:

Harsha Bhogle,

That's interesting. I love him, more as a speaker than a commentator though. But even in commentary, he ain't that bad is he ?

Yes he is a very fluent speaker but in terms of cricket commentary,he knows next to nothing about the game. His comments are usually very elaborate and peppered with fanciful use of his vocabulary but I don't find any insightful comments about the game in progress from him.Usually just excited over-the-top comments and a little digression from time to time on topics other than cricket.

I think apart from the names mentioned above for various reasons like language etc..

Sunil Gavaskar is defiently quite avoidable - for his monotonous comments and largely biased statements during commentary
only saving grace is the impeccable language

Cricket would have died long if we had only people like Sidhu, Ranjit Fernando,Arun Lal, Sivaramakrishnan, Srikkanth to comment

what abt worst sports channel - Neo Sports

Neo Sports | wandering-online.com

I find all Indian commentators irritating. I dont like Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar etc

But the most irritating of the lot are:

1)L.Sivaramakrishnan - I think he is worst than tomato seller. Pathetic commentator.
Recent SriLankan tour - L S - "Pathetic bit of fielding by Kullasakera" Kullasakera tried to stop a boundary by foot but failed. On the same day, I saw a match, 1985 India vs Aussies. L.Sivaramakrishnan was playing in that match. If one saw L S' fielding, Kullasakera is Jonty Rhodes.

2) Arun Lal - No words.

3) Sanjay Tendoooolkar Manjrekar - Tendooolkar.

I can go on and on for all Indian commentators.

My favorites are mostly Aussies. Richie Benaud, Bill Lawry, Dean Jones, Ian Chappel, Tony Grieg.
What professional cricketers and commentators. Richie Benaud is class.

Worst Channels:

Neo Sports
Set Max

Best is Star/Espn

Sivaramakrishnan thinks he is one cool dude - he talks only in English even to the fellows who cannot answer in English !

In the recent T20 match in SL when Yusuf won the MOM - everyone could see Yusuf was scared but Siva went on in English - have seen this happen everytime.

But I love it when he does that to Paki cricketers :D

That's probably because Siva doesn't know too much Hindi himself!

I cant stand Arun Lal's commentary. Hate his fake laughter, and his attempts to use long-nice-sounding words where they have no applicability. Couldn't stand Sidhu either, thank God he is off air. Ian Chappell is extremely biased.
Among those I like, definitely David Lloyd, Tony Greig and does anybody remember a certain Henry Blofeld?!
I think Sourav Ganguly would make a good commentator in the future

Voted for Rameez Raja.

He is always short of words and tends to use same phrases/words again and again.

For example ::: the word ACROBATIC :D

:OT His hair style, looks really bad on him, does look ugly at times.

The most worst commentator I have ever heard and seen is Dean Jones. He talks as if he's above the game.

I like the commentary of Michael Holding, specially when he's out there for the pitch report and starts - 'Hello, this is Michael Holding, holding the mike...'.
The way he speaks is really entertaining. :)
