Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

With todays win,
no need for India to 'cheer',
but it's really a time for the OZs to 'fear'!!!

Anyway, well begun is half done...
All the best for the rest!!!

Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

Ok. My take after seeing the warm-up match yesterday..

* Chawla deserves a place in playing 11 (He is unknown weapon for most of the opponents)
* Even though the scorecard shows only one wicket to R Ashwin, he bowled really well above Bhajji and went unlucky on a few occasions.
* Inspite of that he is consistently taking wickets, i feel yuvi has to in bench for few matches to 'earn' his spot.
* With Sachin & Zaks coming back, I feel yuvi and munaf to go out.
* Nehra should be allowed to bowl all 10 overs in next match to see how 'matchfit' he is
* Sree showed good temperament and bowled in very decent line & length.
* India exposed the Aussies yesterday; remove Watson & ponting early.... and see a middle order collapse. Most of them has no prior experience on sub continent soil and it makes the weakest middle order of Australian team i've seen Yeah i know, i didnt include out of form clarke

Thoughts...

Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

My take on the playing XI:

1. Play with 2 seamers Zak and Sree.

2. Play with 2-3 specialist spinners. ( Bhajji, Ashwin, Chawla). We are playing in Indian condition and spinners will definitely get more purchase compared to seamers. Lets admit we have limited weapons to use the reverse swing which will be definitely available.

3. Drop Yuvi ... He is one of my personal favourites but he is not at all looking promising. So sad to see his body language.

4. Let some one know Viru that he does not need to play for 50 overs .. If he plays well for 25 overs also India will be in a good condition.

I don't think Dhoni will go in with 5 specialist bowlers at all.

Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

Can someone give me a link, from where I can print the schedule of this world cup? There was a link provided earlier in this thread but the printout is too small and very difficult to read.

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Also the manager for TBHP Fantasy Cricket League on ESPN, if you could kindly approve the membership of the pending teams. I think I will this one.

Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

I thought Bangalore pitch has been re-done to suit more for the spinners. It is time that Yuvi and Munaf need to be rested. If anybody wants to be in stadium for the match do remember that only cellphones are allowed. No camera :-@ no backpacks.

Re: The Cricket World Cup 2011 thread

India 370/4

Great start by Sehwag and a superb century by Virat Kohli. Match already looks in our kitty. Now let's see how the bowlers perform.
