Re: A Photologue of Aero India 2011

Great Pics Manmohan!

The F-16 pictured seems to be normal F-16A.

But on googling I found that the 'WW' marking on the tail fin means its from the 13th FS which means its a F-16C Block 50:

http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-databas...-profile/3806/

Were there any other F-16s around? Any Block 60s with conformal fuel tanks and the 'hump' behind the pilot? If so can you upload those pics?

I arrived at the air show at 3:15 pm and by that time all the tickets were sold out.
However I did get to see the flying display from outside sitting under a tree!

I don't want to bore everyone to death but I can't help it, fighter planes are my passion.

The plane pictured below is a F/A-18F Super Hornet.

The 'E' version has only one seat the while the one below is the two seater 'F' version.

Re: Aero India 2011 - Airshow in Bangalore

@shajufx : I guess I know now, my threads been merged with the one you referred to, so which is this other thread you are talking about ?

@Foxbat : I could see only one more F-16 on static display, i think it was similar to the one you see in the picture. will check if i have any pictures of the same. OT. was not "Foxbat" the code for Russian MIG's used by NATO?

@ Coooolcat : Yep its up.

@ Deky: I did name each photograph, while downsizing them and loading each, however when they appear here i do not see the names. However since then i have found out how to get the names to appear. Sorry about the slip, will not happen again. If you do move your cursor across any of my pictures you will see the names of each picture appear in a box, hope that will do for now.

And thank you all.

Thanks for the correction MiG 25, errr Foxbat . I missed the dual seating. And don't worry about boring anyone here. We would love to know more about these awesome mean machines.

Good to know, its merged to this thread after my post, and the link I gave leads to this, so I hope no confusion. I must repeat, wonderful captures, I think your L series is doing a lot of hard work

Btw, did you visit on Friday and you used a tripod towards the extreme left of the ADVA ? I might have seen you.

Looking at the photographs, it seems like he was at the business class. Lovely photographs Manmohanmaan.
I'm trying hard against the time to get some of my photographs ready for posting..

It does not matter, I met 2 photographers who switched places to the ADVA side after lunch time (for better landing and take off shots). But the reverse switching (ADVA ticket to Business area) was not possible for sure. Regarding your posting, hope you dont have to try harder than a F16 pilot

Re: Aero India 2011 - Airshow in Bangalore

@ Shajufx : I did visit on Friday and during the afternoon took shelter near the BEA Systems stall, is this near 'ADVA' ? And i did not use a tripod as in the crowd and the movement of the aircraft it would have been a hindrance, however i did see another gentleman using one near there.

Thank you Kaushik.

Manmohan.

Agree about the tripod, unless you are using a wimberley head. I found many guys struggling with the pan & tilt tripod heads. Here is one I spotted, sorry if its a member here no insult to anyone.

Re: Aero India 2011 - Airshow in Bangalore

Lovely pics Manmohanmaan, and the second I saw your pics, I knew you had a 100-400.

I had taken similar shots, but didnt get to the level you got. I was using a new 70-300 VR Nikkor Lens which I got. Am planning for the 100-400 very soon
