Hi-Tec Auto wash - Pune

Name: Hi-Tec Auto wash
Location: University Road (Very close to the new flyover at F.C. Road jn.)
Rates:
  • Complete wash and wax: Rs. 200/- (Includes automatic car wash using state of the art machinery running on hydraulics)
  • External wash: Rs. 150/- (Wash the car body and dry it).
Driving Directions:
  • On north end of F.C. Road towards university take a left.
  • You'll come across a huge H.P. Pump on your left.
  • Take a left in the lane adjoining this petrol pump and the washing center is on your right at about 10 meters once you turn left.

Here is the procedure they follow for a car wash:
  • Remove mats from the car. Blow compressed air everywhere with all the doors open for dust to escape.
  • Spray water on the car and apply liquid shampoo on the exteriors.
  • Rinse the soap.
  • Turn on the machine which does rest of the job without human interference.

I chose this place because my car was covered in tree sap and it wouldn't go so easily even after 2-3 repeated washes at Sagar.
The machine wash was what helped. Thats the only reason I visited this place although I know it from quite some time.

Service is ok ok. There is a long queue of cars always since they have just one bay. Short staffed facility with just 2 guys doing all cars and bikes coming their way. Nice underbody jet sprays used to clean the underbody.

Here are a few poor quality pics taken from my cell phone:

Hope this helps.

Thanks MF.

It really helps.
Just one question - this automatic machine is "contact" type or "non-contact" type? Will it leave any swirl marks?

I meant if their cleaning brush touches the car or is it pure pressure wash...

I went to them on Sunday 6:45 PM. They were closed :-(
It seems they close a bit early on Sundays...

Then I found a pressure wash, air spray facility (pretty much street side) on my own Pashan - Sus road. They are at the intersection of Sus road and Balaji mandir road. very plain, uncomplicated place. Open air, but they have a ramp for underbody wash.

They charge Rs. 150 for NHC size cars (complete body, underbody, engine wash + air cleaning of the cabin). Decent. Just one catch - they rub the washing cloth on the floor under hose water to clean it and use on the next car

Don't try it. First of all its a pain to get parking at E-Square which is why I never watch any movies there unless someone is driving me there. They have a valet service which sucks and banged a team-bhpians brand new Civic while parking.

Not well equipped to even hold one car in the shade they have. Good to park your bike in and get a wash while you catch a movie but nothing great about them when it comes to quality.

I think this is the type of machines which Shell Pumps have in the
USA. You get a free wash if you fill 8$ of gas. You sit in the car while
it's being moved through the wash. It's good fun. You can get
some extra detergents added for a couple of dollars more.

Re: Hi-Tec Auto wash - Pune

This washing center has closed down and a commercial complex is being built in its place. Mods, please close this thread.
