Earthquake & Tsunami hits Japan EDIT: Nuclear reactors damaged.

Hey friends,

I have just come across this news that a massive earth quake, 8.9 on scale has hit Japan, followed by a huge Tsunami along the north-east coastline of japan ! This is just weeks after the Newzealand tragedy.

Exactly a day ago, I have read an article online saying something about Moon coming closer by a km to earth, which can possibly cause Havoc in some areas, a Tsunami like thing probably. This was predicted by few astrologers & as usual... rubbished by scientists of NASA and such.

But, today we witness a tragedy where quite a few lives might have been affected, and many more endangered. I am just thinking, Is this a result of Global Warming ?
Are we really coming closer to THE END ? as predicted by the famous nostradamous (i dono if i spelt it right !)

Can the we or the world at large, do something to setup better warning systems ? (I know i am putting up a vague question here)

But, the pacific belt, which is famous to be unstable with frequent quakes and Tsunamis, has never seen such intensity of quake or tsunami. So, this must be some thing really big ?

I am still shocked and speechless at this tragedy and the frequency of occurence of such tragedies time and again... nature teaching us a lesson, probably. May this be the last we hear of such tragedies..
May those souls R.I.P.

Earthquake hits Japan

received a FB update by jyothidas that earhquake hit Kamiashi port region of Japan along with a Tsunami warning.

My cousin was working on a Project with Wipro and was placed at Tokyo, 400kms aways. they felt the earthquake - the management confirmed that they are safe and didn't let them leave the building. BTW, he is an inactive member of Team BHP

Yeah man! God bless the people of Japan.
About 40lac houses are destroyed and a whole oil refinery has been burnt.

Lord knows how many people have been killed and missing. :(

While I am sorry for the tragedy, it's Japan - they will bounce back on their feet even before the waters dry up.

End of world or not. Why bother with something that is unknown.

If you are hinting at 2012. It is still sometime away. :P

Japan is in earthquake zone, they are used to such tremors. But I wish all the best for their well being.

I neither believe nor rubbish the 2012 story, but we seem to be accelerating our way towards something similar. May be its Global Warming or something else, but I just wanted to spare a thought and see if we can do anything about it. Obviously, creating panic/worry was not on my agenda !

Re: Earthquake hits Japan

It is just one of moon's closest Perigees. To get an idea how near and far moon gets to earth in its orbit, refer the following picture.

I don't think the earthquakes are caused by Moon being closer or due to global warming. Japan is in a seismically active region as we all know.

Indian coastal line don't have to worry about the Tsunamis as of now.

Re: Earthquake hits Japan

I came across this after a quick search. It seems like moon can affect earthquakes on earth, but probably not to an extent that we immediately notice. When it comes to geography, a lot of factors come into play i believe

re: Earthquake & Tsunami hits Japan EDIT: Nuclear reactors damaged.

While the recent events are a cause for concern, such events occur due to forces beyond our control. Worrying about them will give more blood pressure and grey hairs. Mass extinction is a natural process, if it needs to happen, then no force on this earth can stop it.
Just relax and live your life until the inevitable occurs.

As far as the Mayan's 2012 prediction is concerned.

i donot know whether if it is related or not, but there is dark clouds over Kolkata now - time by my watch is 3PM and it already seems like 6.30 in the evening. Weather predictions show clear sky but, it doesn't look like outside.

I hope the people in Japan bounces back to Life fast. Wish them a speedy recovery

Sorry for Japan and even the govt. there says that it is out of their control, but c'mon they will bounce back with double the speed like a phoenix.
Though the loss to property is heavy and even though death toll is negligible compared to disasters in the rest of world, still 10 human lives lost.
God be with Nippon and wish them fast recovery.

This was predicted a long time before in the new testament on several occasions. Some of it you find at the last parts of each of the four first books in the new testament.
