Re: Moving to Gurgaon - Advise on moving my car

Touching this subject again friends since i will be moving to Gurgaon next month. My car is April 2011 registered Ford Fiesta Classic and I would like to bring it along with me.

Please let me know if the ground situation has changed in the last 6-7 months? Are the RTO authorities more vigilant?

I await for your feedback.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Manjunath

^^ No change in ground situation, all the advice on the previous page still stands.

Agreed with others. My Corolla has been in Gurgaon for the past 1 year, no trouble whatsoever by the cops. No idea about other regions of the NCR though, it has rarely been taken out of Gurgaon (couple of times to Delhi and once to Shimla).

Delhi Police / Delhi Traffic Police might give you a closer look and ask you a few questions / check documents to verify your ID at their security barriers; UP Police are not even concerned.

Re: Moving to Gurgaon - Advise on moving my car

I have a similar question regarding moving to Bombay. Do I have to get my car re-registered? If so, since my car still is hypothecated, are there any additional procedures I need to follow before registering again?

Some advice here would help. Thanks

I often visit Mumbai and spot so many cars from northern states including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP, Punjab etc. So I guess there is no issue with Delhi number.

Any idea if petrol cars more than 15 years old are allowed in the NCR region?
