ICE Setup in Navin's RS

Well boys since Navin has time & again expressed his inability to post pictures of his audio setup due to not knowing how to upload the pictures, here are some from my end! These pictures were taken when Me & Navin met for lunch on my last trip to Bombay.

The setup

The 3 amps. The distribution block is hidden from view.

- Alpine 340 for front and rear speakers
- Blau 275 bridged for 12" Subwoofer
- Blau 450 (or is it 470) bridged for VRT 6.5" midbasses

Infinity 12" sub in box using 4mm MDF sandwiched by 3mm of FRP on each side. Box volume is about 30 liters. There is an aperiodic port firing towards the Alpine amp. LPFed at 60Hz.

2 Blaupunkt/Velocity VRT 6.5" midbass drivers (ported box is sealed) running from 60Hz to 250Hz

HU: Alpine 9830

The speakers in the front are:

2 13cm Vifa midbass HPF at 250Hz and 2nd order LR Passive XO at about 3kHz
2 D26NC Vifa tweeter with Blau Velocity grill 2nd order LR passive XO at about 3kHz.
Both driven by the 4-ch Alpine amp.

And the explanation for using both the VRT6.5" & a 12" Woofer together in Navin's words:

Quote:
Initially I had just the VRT 6.5" but the bottom octave was missing so I replaced them with the 12" but the octave between 100hz and 200Hz was not nice so I decided to use the 12" below 100Hz and use the VRT 6.5 above it. If I had not needed the VRT 6.5 I would have put them in my FIL's Swift.
Also the car has 2 Necvox screen behind the headrests for his son to watch his Movies/Cartoons!

So guys, Enjoy! And sorry for the poor quality pics, they were taken from a phone cam!

correction Ishan, I have one NecVox screen for my son. also that DVD changer you see in the trunk is loaded with Mr. Bean etc. for him. It palys via a FM modulator which is ok for the stuff he sees anyway.

Oh BTW the VRT 6.5 woofer near the bumper and the DVD changer have been interchanged so the 2 VRT 6.5s are now mirror image. Only if I have to fit some large stuff do I move the VRT around.

I've been to the Museum of Science & Technology in London many times, but that doesn't come close to this! And I thought they cover everything contemporary.

BTW, what speakers are mounted on the parcel tray supports left & right? One can see a bit of pink bottom showing through! Tut, Tut, Ishaan, you haven't covered the whole stuff.

Ave, Caesar. Morituri te salutant!

Great setup! Navinji!
Looks like you've made sure that each and every inch of the boot could be utilised. Nice space utilisation.

I would like to sit in and hear the setup atleast for 5 mins. May I?

Ishan, where you able to sit and enjoy his setup? Not that you may understand anything but still...

Sorry sir, now that you mention it I do remember noticing that there was only one screen!

Well sir apart from the HU & Screen I have covered everything! Since the speakers are in the stocks pods/spaces I doubt I could have snapped much. Plus, I'm not much of an Audiophile so these things don't really occur to me, I concentrate more on other bits of the car! Like asking Navin if his car came shod with the Dunlops as OE!

Aur waise bhi aapko to pata hi hai, "Bandar kya jaane adrak ka swaad!!!"

Well to be frank I was in the car for only 5 minutes or so (from National College to the restaurant) and since Navin was looking for a restaurant & instructing the driver at the same time, we didn't remember to switch it on at all!!

And Thank God he didn't make me listen to some silly soundtrack!

Navin loves Himmesh and the only soundtrack you may have heard would be Aap ka Khajoor, or some movie like that.

Actually, HIMMESH's intestine muscle straining sounds when going oooooommm would be quiet audible in this kinda setup.
And I don't want to mention the funny sounds which happens below that.

Sam! Should I reveal that Baby doll thingy you are fond of?
