Having driven on congested roads everyday for office commute, I feel heavenly when I get to drive on the Mum-Pune Eway. Thats the time when I put my ride to the real test.

Ghat Roads, I take pleasure in the Waynad-Calicut road whenever I go to Kerala from Bangalore.
Bangalore – Salem – Palakkad highway is unexciting to drive for me.

My favourites

NH213 - from Palakkad to Calicut : 2 laned, ups, downs, S bends, C bends and what not

Palakkad - Kulappully State highway : The best road I've ever driven in the country, wide two laned road with excellent run-off area, nice banking and as usual good views around

Palakkad - Siruvani Ghat road - Narrow single lane, but well tarred with scarce traffic. Absolute heaven

Very un-surprisingly, no one has opted for the bumper-to-bumper and city traffic!

I've voted for the ghat sections. Nothing like a nice drive along with the winding roads across the hills, especially in good weather. Only spoiler is presence of slow-moving erratic trucks. Hairpin bends have a charm of their own.

4-lane highways and Expressways are just plain boring!

Me too voted for ghat roads. Apart from that, I like driving on 2-lane roads with fast sweeping bends esp the ones with freshly laid tarmac! Yum I literally smile like an idiot when I drive on these roads.

+1, The feel which Wagonr's steering gives at speeds of 100-130 is just inexpressible.

In general I love riding on Expressways like Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, Noida expressway especially in late night/early morning. NH1 is superb to drive on any time of the day. Delhi Ring Road is nice place to drive on if it is early morning say 3.00 AM.

Voted for the expressways.

Hitting limiter, rear wheel fighting for traction, blipping & going down the 'box, apexing & powering out.

I would always love to drive on Ghat roads or a 2 laned SH roads than a 4 laner. It gives you that occassional thrill of taking curves or well planned over-taking at times

4-lanes are only if I need to drive fast

Drive around a city at nights after 1 AM, is also a good experience altogether. City looks very different & cool at nights with less/no traffic.

i love to drive on ghats as well as expressways though there was no option as such. mumbai-Pune expressway during monsoons when its cloudy, Mahableshwar ghat, Mumbai-Goa route one of my favourites.

1. Smooth 2 laned ghat roads esp with rain fog etc. but less traffic eg Amboli, nh63, mum nashik.
2. 4 laned roads with less traffic eg KA part of NH4. soul curry.
3. expressways. the high speeds keeps one hyper alert at all times

I always enjoy driving on the twisty, wide Mogili ghat road near Palamaner, Andhra Pradesh, on NH 4 between Bangalore and Chennai. So, I voted in favour of the ghat roads.
