re: How much do you pay the car cleaner?

I used to pay 300 for Swift. After shifting to new place I hugely disappointed as could not find proper person who would do the job to my satisfaction. Reluctantly finalised a person for Swift, X Trail and Activa with 800 p.m. After a month gave 800 extra to my driver to clean Swift and Activa. X Trail is now looked after by myself. For my baby I quit gym and doing 30 min duty religiously every morning.

re: How much do you pay the car cleaner?

In Gurgaon, we pay 200 for a hatch and 250 for a sedan (300 for a SUV); cars are cleaned each day and from inside on sunday.

Here in Bangalore, I pay 600 per month! (I stay in BTM which has independant houses so that could be a reason for the high rate). Shifting to a big society tomorrow; will check how much a cleaner charges there; since there be tons of cars that are washed and the rate/car would be lower.

I stay in Rohini. And yes I pay Rs 200 for both my cars, a Spark and a Nano. They are washed alternatively i e one week for Spark and then the Nano next week. Ofcourse, sundays are off and interiors are cleaned only when the month is about to end ( payment due time).

One thing to note here is that both my cars are parallel parked with no space in between. So, right hand side of my Spark and Left hand side of my Nano is almost never cleaned thus the cleaner saves his time and is happy about it.

That sounds about right. I pay 300 for the "mothee gaadi" (big car) and 250 for the "chotee", plus we toss in another 50 and ask our guy to wash the Flyte as well when he can . I used to have a guy who washed the Swift for 200 but he was terrible- the car sometimes loked worse after his washes than before and those swirls! Now am happier.

Have you considered interchanging their positions occasionally?!!!

In Delhi-NCR, cleaners charges anything around 100-400 Rupees per month depending on locality/size of the car.

PS - Surveying to know the industry standards!! LOL

@Mods please shift/merge the thread to right section if it is not in correct forum.

We pay Rs 300 for the Corolla and Rs 100 for my Honda Dio. The exterior of the car is cleaned daily and the interiors are cleaned on Sundays. They sometimes forget to clean the bike though !

re: How much do you pay the car cleaner?

I used to pay 500/- for wagon-r, for cleaning outside daily, and inside, once a week. but over all the months he used to clean, he cleaned the interiors only once a month, that too while taking the money. after selling off the wagon-r, told him that the new car has got some polishing done, and should not be water washed for few months.

re: How much do you pay the car cleaner?

Used to pay 250 bucks per car till last month, and 300 from the current. Daily exterior & interior cleaning, though a handful of sundays are missed. Of course, over and above this, a tip of 100 - 200 bucks every month for the "special attention". I'm very happy with the work this chap does.

Bombay is just incredibly dusty. Most evenings, my office peon gives the car a nice wipe at about 1700 hours.

What really surprised me is that, in a recent poll, 50+ % of Team-BHPians said they wash their car only once in a week (Linky). I simply don't understand how some of you manage that; one day without a wash and my cars look awfully dirty!
