I always wanted to drive the length of Wales and last weekend was a bank holiday so the decision was made to go on Sunday Morning.
The plan was to leave early morning and drive straight to north wales then drive down south through Snowdonia and Brecons down to Cardiff with a overnight stay in the historic market town of Aberystwyth .
The sunday morning drive from
Romford to Llanberis
453 km and took 5 hrs 10 mins ( the route was M25-M1-M6-M54-A5-A483-A55-B4366) not an interesting drive but the fastest way to get to north wales
Llanberis to Aberystwyth
119 km 3 hrs . One of the most scenic drives I have driven the route was ( A4086-A498-A4085-B4410-A487-A470-A487 )
Overnight in Aberystwyth
Aberystwyth to Cardiff
187 km 3 hrs 50 mins. On this section on the route I wished we had gone in the M3 . The section of the A4069 between Llangadog and Brynamman is driving nirvana. ( also know as Black Mountain Pass)
Cardiff to Romford
307 km 3 hrs 21 mins. motorways to get back home.
Anyone who gets the opportunity to drive these roads in Wales should take it
as you will remember it for the rest of your life.
the route was logged on POGO ALERT.
