I have no idea about new/old Sanghvi. But detailed address read " Parihar Chowk, DP Road, Sangvi Nagar, Aundh". Is it new/old Sanghvi?

So what will be the driving time from Dange Chowk during peak hours?

Nothing to do with Sanghvi here. The Sangvi Nagar is near Parihar Chowk.
Take this route :
Dange Chowk --> Cross Kalewadi Phata and drive straight (Park Street / Wisdom World school on your right) --> Rakshak Chowk (Army tank on your left) --> Aundh Chest Hospital / Octroi Post --> Y-junction - left goes to Rajiv Gandhi Bridge, take Rigth to Parihar Chowk --> Take Right from T-junction (left is Parihar Chowk).

Caused a massive jam in the morning. By now, should be clear.

Due to the road widening in process, a kaccha lane has been created on the left of the lane. All SUV's got onto the kaccha lane and drove merrily till they could join the road again.

My need for an SUV has grown two fold now.
Yes I observed the broken down trailor around 7:30 am. That time not many vehicles on the road so no traffic jam but I thought to myself that this is going to create a jam later. Decided to put the update in this thread after coming to office but got caught up in work and forgot all about it.

re: Pune : Roads, traffic conditions, route queries and other assorted rants

I dont know which thread this should go into, but I saw a SUV getting tested on the Pune bypass road at around 8 in the morning. It looked like a Safari, but it was not clad as the regular test mules of Safari in here. Rather it had the strange spiraling black and white circles on it as the BMW test mules uses. Couldnt get any snap of it.

MODS: Please move to the appropriate thread.

^^ we also saw an SUV being tested for off-roading abilities around Range hill. Photos will be posted in an appropriate thread soon.

The new Holkar Bridge is almost ready. While one section is in operation for the last seven-eight months, work on the other section is almost complete. The underpass is also finished. Expect the opening ceremony in the next few weeks.

Good to know. It will be great once the road construction on range hills road is complete.

Yes, agree.
It will make the quickest shortcut from "East Pune" to University/Senapati Bapat/Aundh/Baner even quicker.

Looks like the curve (bordered by couple of snaking cliffs ) just after the Praj exit is now a daily scenario. Evaluating the necessity to drive through Sus road and take the exit to the highway from there. What say guys?

Anil, the only problem with that is, the traffic situation at Bavdhan is even worse than on the bypass.

The Bavdhan -Pashan route is a perfect example, of how good roads get screwed up, under the name of development. The road digging, and abrupt speed breakers have all but spoilt that road completely.

Massive logjam at the bypass, just before the Wakad flyover. Reason for the jam is not yet known.

Our very own mod noop, just gave a live update that he's stuck in the jam from Balewadi main gate, and can see the jam extending till Wakad chowk.

All those coming from Kothrud, Sus Rd, Baner side; best to avoid this patch as of now.

Maybe this is the reason..

^^Yeah. Just got the update from noop. A truck broke down in the left lane, and another truck side swept an Indica. Both decided to argue on the road, hence the jam.

Man the jam was huuuuuuge. I was just in time to get on to the service lane and happily sneaked through, but with in minutes even that was blocked, understandably.

Took me 45 minutes from Bavdhan to Phase 3- a little more than the usual, so cannot really say "got stuck" in the jam.

re: Pune : Roads, traffic conditions, route queries and other assorted rants

Horrendous traffic jam yesterday evening from Rahul theatre flyover till Juna Bazaar. From Balewadi to Camp, it took me 1 hour 40 minutes

Thankfully I was in Alto, had it been Cruze, one more hour would have been added

Is this a routine affair or a one-off thingy?

And its functional. Inexplicably the "old" new bridge has been closed to traffic. Hopefully it should be only a temporary blockage.
