Here is the link Sakaal Times - Bitten by dogs, deer dies near Khadakwasla dam

There was one more incident perhaps in the previous month of may where 2 or more were dead/captured.

re: Pune : Roads, traffic conditions, route queries and other assorted rants

It seems inspite of objections raised by COEP, PMC has started the work on the flyover from Shopper's stop side towards Sancheti Bridge. Yesterday evening noticed that one lane of old Pune Mumbai highway towards Mumbai has been blocked. This is from the signal ( Sangamwadi bridge junction) to Shoppers stop. Barricades have been put up with name of contractor.

On another note, inspite of reports in media and general awareness of failure of BRT, the new road starting from the junction of sangamwadi road on yerwada side to jail which was blocked by pipes has a board stating reserved for BRT

BRT has failed in every single respect , except filling up the pockets of those involved in building it.
Its utterly shameful of the PMC to unilaterally build whatever it takes to line their pockets , ignoring the interests of the citizens.

What about the metro? line 1 is supposed to be built on this route too. So what happens to BRT during and after metro construction? As far as I remember, the metro plan has been approved. but I dont see any work being done for it. At this rate, it will take another 10 years just to complete 1 line.

Regarding metro, the state govt has approved, it. It has not yet sent the proposal to central govt. Once central govt approves, they need to work on funding and then it work would start. Also they need to acquire the land prior to construction work so would take a lot of time.
Recently saw a presentation on Pune metro on slideshare . Here is the link

Pune Metro Presentation by Prashant Inamdar

have a look and be prepared for the mess if we get an elevated metro

Major jam on Nagar road. Avoid travel for some time if possible.

That looks like a bad hit S_U_N. Looks like it made contact with a smaller vehicle/road obstacle. Impact was large enough to take out its front axle alltogether. I hope there are no casualties.

Found a dead buffalow on the left lane on the bypass. This was near DSK Toyota.
A few orange cones have been placed around the dead animal, trying to divert traffic. Anyone headed that way, try and be in the right lane. This could (and did) cause some traffic jam.

O.T: Couldnt help but remember "Mhais" episode of P.L Deshpande. Sorry, not all would get the context of this.

Thanks SwIn. Was caused due to a brand new Ritz ZXi standing upright on its nose.
No idea how it happened. "L" boards on the rear windscreen, even seat plastic covers not removed.
Couldnt get a proper look as I was driving (instead of being in the bus) and there was too much of a crowd.
I encountered the jam starting a bit after Pashan lake mandir.

Yeah saw that.
Scary. Brand new car gone. Totalled.
What was scary was the way it landed. On its nose! No clue as to how he managed that!

Off the bypass. Rather, in the small ditch on the left.
Was heading towards Wakad.

I think thats quite acheivable. I would be surprised to see if one landed on its nose on the road
Hope no casualties/ injuries there.

by the way, I didnt get an automatic message for being quoted. Mods, why so? I notice the red arrow is missing when Swanand quoted my post. Does that happen if you use the mobile site?

Swanand & Ojas, see how easily people like me move on from accidents these days?

That's scary Ojas.
How can a car land on its nose? I can't imagine what could've happened.
Hope there are no casualties.

Is there any progress on the road widening that started on Baner and Pashan patch of the bypass?
