Should not be more than 2 hours drive from Pune and there should be something for kids as well as grownups.
Baneshwar is a good place. Right turn at Nasrapur phata, after the toll booth on NH4 towards Satara. It has a temple and a park with some walkways towards a stream that should have some water now. Not sure if that space would be enough for cricket/ football.
But its a very quiet serene place.

Thanks Balaji.
I think this one is more suited for family outings, not much for team + family outings. I think I need more space perhaps.

Anway, did you find an alternate route where by the toll road can be avoided?

You can find a easy by going in at the khed shiwapur phata. I'm sure there is a way to get there. Won't be able to tell you exactly but I guess google maps is your friend.

In my opinion, its better to get your team to trek a bit. Its fabulous weather for trekking now.

In any case, any space you get now will be really muddy and slushy.
But if you really want space now, go to Kaas and perhaps onward to Bamnoli. fabulous view, bloom season is over, so crowds would be thin too.
If you want to stretch it to 2 days, then you can include Thoseghar waterfalls by staying overnight at Satara.

You can definitely try Anand Valley which fits your need. I have been there with family and my cousins and it's a good place to be with good entertainment and space. You can check out their site for details http://www.anandavalley.com/
Their booking office is in a lane next to Trikaya hotel in Baner. Have a good time.

SUN, if its a team + family bonding, plus some team building activity, try Adventure Plus. Its in Bhor. Approx. an hour from Pune.
Lots of activities.
But, these are all paid activities. Per person cost is ~600. Thats inclusive of food (Breakfast+Lunch+evening snacks).

Consider a whole day for the abovementioned.

These are good options.

I thought Adventure Plus was only for those into extreme sports, but I am glad that there is some kids park too. We have a couple of kids who need to be kept happy.

In my experience, Adventure Plus is not so good for kids. The so called Kids park is not so great. On the other hand, not all activities are extreme sports. There are many activities that anyone can do except for very old people. Food is so-so.

re: Pune : Roads, traffic conditions, route queries and other assorted rants

I heard from one of my ex colleagues that they are not very professional at Adventure plus and that you could get an extra ride by tipping the fellow at the ride. Please do check tripadvisor reviews before you go. And I would be very careful of putting any kids on any ride. Heck, even any slide for that matter. Call me paranoid, but I dont want some rusted slide to cause an injury. This happened to a friend at a reputed water park last year.
Before I go way offtopic, please also check reviews for Della Adventure camp in Lonavla. Some colleagues had been there last year.

Della Adventure is a good place and well maintained. The food at the restaurant is also amazing.

Would definetly second that opinion. Della Adventure is definetly very well maintained. For me the zip line and the paintball activities were a blast and I would recommend the place in a heartbeat.
One thing to watch out for- the approach road to Della from Lonavala is an absolute disaster. In fact it is like a mud track with lots of undulations and immense potholes which will definetly scrape your vehicle if you are driving a sedan/hatch. Had a couple of cringe inducing scrapes in my 2012 Honda City when I visited in August.

A sight to see on our Pune roads .

Saw these mutts basking in the morning sun.

This was in Kothrud Area.

Be careful of parking your cars on the streets/ road sides.

re: Pune : Roads, traffic conditions, route queries and other assorted rants

^^^ LOL! In my parking place, a dog has booked my car for sleeping under, so much that I have to check whether he is gone before moving the vehicle. Whenever I come late to home, he usually comes running and gives me a damning look, as to question me why I delayed his sleep timings

Street dogs are smart. I hope the above dogs did not make any nail-marks on the paint of the car, the way cats do.

Amazed to see the level of security . Infact theives have to be careful in this case. How will the owner enter the car is still a question though (he can't even throw a stone at them)
