Re: Newer Rotting Cars

If you drive on Jaipur or Chandigarh highways you will find many cars parked by smaller dhaba's. Ostensibly the impression is created that the dhaba is safe and worth stopping by as there is a car stopped there. But on closer inspection most of these cars are just parked there and do not even work though they are kept reasonably clean to give impression.

Just passed the spot, the SS80 is now gone. Hope someone picked it up for Restoration or at least as a Donor Car.

Re: Newer Rotting Cars

Brothers from the same family rotting away together. Spotted these in an apartment complex that I was visiting. No idea why they have been abandoned. The interiors on the Superb were filthy as well.

LandRover Bangalore Fraser Town. As on yesterday morning 11am.

No idea if it is abandoned. But it is certainly neglected.

Re: Newer Rotting Cars

This Maruti 800 SB308 has been lying in a lane near my house in Dadar, Mumbai since quite a while. Going by the registration number, I think this car is from 1987 or so. Till 2015, the car used to occasionally run but has been left unattended ever since Notice that this car is an automatic. Maruti 800 automatics are very rare as they were made in limited numbers, only to cater to the handicapped and disabled people. I have a feeling the gearbox has gone bust in this car, hence it is lying there.

Wow! 800 Automatics are really needles in a haystack! Hope someone restores it to its original condition. Feel sad looking at this in such a state.

Cheers!

I am pretty sure the gearbox is bust in that car. Someone has let the window glass down off late! I wonder what the scene is with it. It hasn't moved since nearly two years.

Re: Newer Rotting Cars

Saw this Premier Padmini sitting in Annanagar, Chennai. An autorickshaw is trying to give it company. Wonder if things worked out for the 2 of them!!

Re: Newer Rotting Cars

Saw this on my Instagram feed today. Really sad seeing this Nano abandoned. I know it's peanuts in monetary value but it still feels sad to see any car abandoned. Also, this car seems to have aftermarket wheels and painted callipers so some money has definitely been invested in this.

Re: Newer Rotting Cars

Loved the cute jellybean design of the erstwhile Zen, so it's pretty sad to see them lying on the roadside every so often. Came across this one recently.
