Actually, that check may be only a pre-cautionary check. Remember ,the crash was not a highspeed crash for this car. The damage has happened at both front & back - and is hence distributed. A lot of the impact was absorbed by the rear door. Engine is mostly intact.

Tell me one thing - how did the car feel when it was driven from the mall to M.A.S.S to Sai ? Did the car feel bad (wobbly / pulling to one side) - any vibrations ?

For your sake, I really hope that nothing comes out of the alignment check.

Looks like you already made up your mind! Beats the purpose of having this thread though. Throw-able? Hey buddy you are getting a good claim amount and compensation aren't you?

A repair will never guarantee a trouble free car. It is ok if you want to learn; But why go through the hassles of repairs. Staying without a car etc.

Coming to my point: If you do get it repaired just for the "Emotional Side" then get it done through MASC and don't go anywhere else.

One more thing like other members mentioned that you will have a hard time selling the car. Many people also bargain with the Insurance company to get a better Total Loss value.

Anyways; Best of luck for your quest!

It was towed to MASS and then Sai by towing vehicle. Engine was starting but car was not in drivable condition.

Concluding Comment. After repair at Sai Colorium

Dear Bhpians,

After 2 months of waiting and running around garage my car saga seems
to be over, I decided to get it repaired at Sai colorium and received
my car after 4 weeks at Sai colorium. Attached the pictures after
repair and below is my feedback @ Sail colorium.

+1 for:
Body Work & Paint Job - I was unable to differentiate which panel they
painted and which not, perfect paint job (I was very afraid of it).
Though if you open bonnet and look at left apron, you might guess the
welding work and repairs. But done nicely.

-1 for:
Internal fittings and schedule: The schedule got slip twice however, I
never pressurized or complained as I told them not to compromise on
repair work and I am ok with few days here or there. Internal fitting
department is weak. I notice many wires hanging below dashboards as
well as AC airflow controller is not sliding properly. But looks like
these are minor issue and can be fixed easily.

Already ran around 500 km since repair and experiencing the 99.9% same
car. Hope it will go on.
Overall, I would say its a great place for paint or body job. I guess
they also charge much less compare to M.A.S.C.

Thanks to everyone who have taken time and replied on this thread and
helped me during time when I needed the most.

Last but not least, thanks to Anuj who patiently posted all the my
questions and comments on my behalf as I didn't get membership in
Team-BHP [my registration got rejected twice :( ]

Regards,

Anuj, Good to see your car back in original shape.

Can you please post original estimate provided by MASS and the cost you incurred? Was it done at MASS or private garage?

First of all it is not my car, it is my friend's car. Cost incurred repairing of this car at Sai Colorium (Outside private garage) was 40% of MASS estimate.

Your following post gave an impression that it is your car because you have just cut and pasted your friend's mail which would have prompted wind surfer to misunderstand as to this as your car.
