The reconstructed Mahatma Gandhi Setu will be operational fully from 1st week of June. I hope that the deadline doesn't extend further.

"Final touches are being given to the eastern flank of the bridge, being reconstructed by the Union ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH) under the Prime Minister’s package to Bihar, before its formal inauguration by Union minister Nitin Gadkari, who has given his consent for the function. Chief minister Nitish Kumar will be requested to grace the occasion,” said Nabin.
The western flank of the 5.57-km-long bridge in two lanes was opened for traffic by Gadkari on July 31, 2020. However, it was unable to tackle the load of traffic that often led to heavy traffic jams on the bridge.

The bridge will be inaugurated on 7th June by MoRTH Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari and Bihar CM Mr. Nitish Kumar. This bridge has an emotional connect with most of the people of North Bihar traveling towards Patna. The inauguration of this will help in reduction of traffic jam across Patna.
Final touches have been given and the bridge is slated to be opened for traffic on 7th June. It's a matter of joy for lots of people who have to commute across this bridge. This will reduce travel time by a huge margin. I've been stuck here on many occasions, but twice it was horrible, once for 5 hours and once for around 7 hours. So one can understand the joy if it takes just 10-15 mins to cross this bridge.

The wait is over. The Mahatma Gandhi Setu is set to be inaugurated today by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister, MoRTH and Shri Nitish Kumar, CM of Bihar.
Will post details after it is inaugurated.
Finally, the Mahatma Gandhi Setu has been thrown open for public traffic from today. clap:
It is hard to explain the feeling of joy as this bridge had become a bane to travellers. I personally know so many people who missed their trains and flight due to jam on this bridge. It was always advisable to reach Patna a day earlier so as not to miss your flight.
