I feel it should be signed off as total loss. Wont the entire monocoque loose rigidity if it is rebuilt? I cant see any repairable section beyond the rear wheels. The boot is completely missing.

Holy ****!!! Thats one bad crash. Glad to know everyone in the car was safe.

And, I think its a total write-off. Repairing it would not make sense, as the damage to the chassis will definately hamper the ride quality later.

Should definitely get a total loss, even without even trying to get an estimate..!..
I'm sure complaining to higher authority in Tata Aig will get the owner a total write off for his vehicle.

The passenger body looks in great shape. I really wonder how will NHC, Fiesta, Baleno, Optra would have looked after this kind of crash?? If others have photos of similar crash of other cars please post. I remember having seen NHC in pretty bad shape in some other thread on Team-BHP.

Baleno and NHC are really light cars so i dont know that their built quality as good as the Skoda. As far as the Optra goes i think its safety is as good as the Skoda i can say that after reading the incident of a Optra and Skoda collision at speeds of around 110kmph near Haji Ali. Both drivers came out without a scartch.

God forbid any of the cars ever crash be it a NHC, Optra, Skoda, Fiesta or a Baleno.

what exactly are we trying to repair here? there is total damage to the rear part of the core frame. welding? straightening? new chassis? 45k? what?

total damage. nothing else.

about the build quality, . about the crash, bad luck.

talking of safety nothing is safe not even the skoda, not even merc beemer etc. in real terms. it all depends at what point the car took the first impact thats the one which could cause fatal injury. a head on impact car v/s car leaves more chances of survival than a headon corner to corner. seen some testing simulations at Instron. just an overview.

The most important safety device in any car...is the nut behind the wheel.

Even if this car is claimed as total loss, some people will buy this thing and repair it right? Common they won't just throw it away like trash. Or do they??
